With the continuous development of child welfare in China,the placement of orphaned and disabled children in children’s welfare homes is becoming more and more diverse.There are more and more department and people participate in domestic adoption,foreign adoption,simulated family and foster family.Therefore,there are more and more orphaned and disabled children go to the families and return to society.But there are some orphaned and disabled children who are unable to adapt to the foster families and they may need to live in the welfare homes for a long time due to their physical problem,psychological problem,spiritual problem,and other problems.Under the centralized rearing mode,the living space of children in welfare homes is relatively fixed and closed,the children there were isolated from conventional society.The life of there is repetition and singleness,and the daily life of the children according to the established schedule.And all about these reduce the possibility of entering the society for the children there.The focus of this paper is that how the orphans and disabled children are socialized under the centralized rearing mode and how to promote the socialization of orphans and disabled children better.This study chooses case study method to research,use text,semi-structure interview,etc.to collect information.And the study takes the socialization of orphaned and disabled children in the welfare home of District A of S City as the research object,and to explore the socialization path and consequences of orphaned and disabled children under centralized rearing mode.Base on the concept of socialization,and the carriers of it,such as family,school,community and their own functions.The study found that the centralized rearing mode provides the orphans and disabled children with a nearly real social situation through simulated social environment,which including simulated families,simulated schools,simulated communities and media environments.All about these are to help the children to become socialization as far as possible.Through the observation of orphaned and disabled children in the welfare homes and interviews with some related staff and children,it is found that the orphans and disabled children can take care of themselves in the welfare homes and get along with the staff and other children through the simulation training of social situation.However,they are still faced with the dilemma of passive selection and self-selection about their career,and the career always connect with their own ability,employment desire and realistic situation.The study found that the social worker and other relevant employees in the welfare home should give full play to their professional expertise.What’s more they should provide more specific service under the situation.And to open up the way for children to return to society finally.
