Research On The Media Image Of Party Members In People’s Daily Since The 18th CPC National Congress

2021 is the 100 th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.During the history of Chinese revolution and social development in the past 100 years,there are countless outstanding Party members who are not afraid of sacrifice,having the courage to explore and innovate.They have shed their blood and sweat of struggle.The report of the 19 th CPC National Congress figures out that Chinese Socialism of characteristics has entered a new era,which also means that CPC faces a new mission in the new historical period.At this important historical node,as an intermediary linking the party and the people,the media image of Chinese Communist Party members created by people’s daily will be a model for millions of Chinese party members to learn and a symbol of the spirit of the times.This thesis chooses the news reports of Party members in people’s daily since the 18 th CPC National Congress as the research object,uses quantitative content from the gender of Party members,Party members in the region,party positions,the spirit of Party members,sources of information,reporting position,reporting topics and other eight categories of construction analysis method to make a descriptive research on the overall situation of the news reports of Party members in people’s daily since the 18 th CPC National Congress,and summarizes the media image of Party members in the new century created by the mainstream media represented by people’s daily.The study points out that since the 18 th CPC National Congress,People’s Daily mainly uses positive reports to express Chinese Party members with male Party members and ordinary Party members in the majority;those Party members are mainly distributed in the southwest and northwest areas;while paying attention to urban Party members,the attention of People’s Daily also goes to rural Party members;the topics of reports mainly involve the fields of politics,economy,people’s livelihood and society.People’s Daily mainly emphasizes the character and spirit of Party members,such as dedication,fearlessness,and being willing to help others.Six kinds of images of Party members are created in People’s Daily: the image of national hero fighting bravely,the image of people-oriented public servant,the image of hardworking rural grass-roots constructor,the image of realistic and pragmatic government worker,the image of era model taking the lead,and the image of notorious corrupt Party member who violates the law and discipline.People’s Daily mainly adopts six kinds of reporting techniques to construct the image of Party members,namely rich and diverse reporting topics,objective and fair reporting stances,showing the spiritual character of Party members in details,highlighting the new era atmosphere of Party members in comparison,and adopting the perspective of the mass,focusing on Rural Party members.The media image of excellent party members constructed by people’s daily is conducive to enhancing the cohesion and influence of our party,enhancing the sense of national identity of the whole nation,and creating a multi-dimensional image of a big country.
