China’s international communication has entered a new stage,making good use of the international communication platform,advancing the construction of international communication power,and creating new concepts,new categories and new expressions that integrate Chinese and foreign countries are the main missions.sports can play a good role in integrating Chinese and foreign in the current international communication environment.On the other hand,social platforms with a large number of attention resources for international audiences have become increasingly important in international communication,and have become strategic that all countries must occupy.Making good use of overseas social platforms can help us reach the international audience,thereby promoting the promotion of international communication.Therefore,this thesis can not only fill in the current gaps in such kind of research,but also provide support for the future communication of Chinese sports on overseas social platform.After preliminary search and considering representativeness and typicality,the first batch of 77 accounts of Chinese sports accounts were obtained.Limiting the scope in 2018 and excluding those accounts which have stopped updating,finally obtaining56 accounts as the object.The evaluation index system of Chinese sports communication on the Twitter platform consisting of popularity,activity and influence.Based on the calculation of the data level,the critical genre analysis theory is used to conduct in-depth analysis of 4801 tweets which are posted by 3 outstanding performing accounts,and then bring about recommendations for Chinese sports on the Twitter platform.The research conclusions show that the traditional mainstream media represented by Xinhua News Agency sports has a clear advantage on the Twitter platform,and it is far ahead of other communications in terms of the number of fans,the total number of tweets and the other index.In addition,the performance of highly internationalized tennis events and Chinese e-sports clubs is also outstanding.Under the statutes of the professional nature of sports and the international communication context,Chinese sports entities have carried out sports communication by focusing on professional practice and social interaction,showing the features of rhetorical situation,communication purpose and discourse structuring.In the future,Chinese sports-related subjects should further improve the communication standards and strengthen the interaction with the audience.At the same time,they must actively set the agendas and grasp the initiative in communication.
