Esports are booming,and the number of people participating in esports is increasing.Esports has become an important part of sports events as part of the official events of the Asian Games.The state has issued policies to promote the development of e-sports,and local governments have also actively promulgated policies to respond.Policy support is conducive to the development of e-sports.The improving media attitude towards esports is helping to improve the image of esports in society.The continuous development of the Internet also provides technical support for e-sports,making the picture quality of e-sports communication clearer and the live broadcast more stable.E-sports events are an important part of e-sports.Chinese e-sports events are relatively mature in China and have achieved excellent results in international largescale events.However,Chinese local e-sports events have poor communication effect in the international arena.Therefore,studying the international spread of Chinese esports events is conducive to improving the international influence of Chinese e-sports events.In this study,China League of Legends professional League is selected as the main case study.As the most influential e-sports product in the world,League of Legends has a large number of spectators and great influence,which is extremely representative.There are more researches on the communication of China League of Legends related events in China,but less on the international communication of China League of Legends professional League.Therefore,by studying the international communication of China’s League of Legends professional League,we can provide referential experience for the international communication of other Chinese e-sports events.In this paper,based on Lasswell’s 5W framework and using research methods such as literature data method,text analysis method,mathematical statistics method,case analysis method and web crawler method,the international communication subject,communication content,communication media,communication audience and communication effect of China League of Legends professional League are studied,the existing problems are analyzed and strategies are proposed.The research believes that the main body of communication is the event organizer,supplemented by the network opinion leaders.In terms of communication content,game commentary and game pictures complement each other and form the game content together.Compared with other game regions,China has its own advantages and disadvantages in terms of related content.The main media is the Internet live broadcast platform,and the event promotion is mainly through live broadcast platform,social media and video platform.The communication audience has the characteristics of wide distribution,diverse audience languages and time difference.In terms of communication effect,there are more viewers on Saturday and Sunday,and the positive emotional comments of fans on Twitch live platform and Twitter social platform are more than negative emotional comments.However,there are problems in the operation of official social platforms.Through analysis,it is concluded that there are some problems in the international communication of China League of Legends professional League,such as unreasonable schedule arrangement,lack of Chinese commentators,unstable game quality,few broadcast languages,poor social media operation and so on.In view of the above problems,the following international communication strategies for Chinese e-sports events are put forward:(1)Innovate competition schedule planning and improve viewing experience;(2)Train Chinese foreign language interpreters to spread Chinese culture;(3)Improve the comprehensive strength of the team and present colorful competitions;(4)Authorize anchors in minority languages to broadcast the games and expand the coverage;(5)Optimize the operation of social media and improve the publicity effect.
