Purposes: In the selection of junior ice hockey players, the evaluation of basic physical fitness is really important, especially for cross-sports talent selection of ice hockey. This study intends to initially establish indicators that are suitable for evaluating the basic physical fitness of junior ice hockey players aged 15-16 years old, through expert survey and experimental method. It is expected to provide a theoretical basis for the scientific talent selection of junior ice hockey players and to provide reference to build the indicator system for the talent selection of ice hockey player in the future. Methods and participants: In this study,85 junior ice hockey players(40 males and 45 females)from two clubs in Beijing were as test subjects.Based on the training years and ages of the players,35 players aged 15-16 were as the participants(17males and 18 females)in this study;(1)the connotation and extension of the basic physical fitness of ice hockey concept were determined using expert interview method and logic analysis method.Combined with the interview opinions of experts and ice hockey coaches, the definition and constituent elements of ice hockey basic physical fitness were determined;(2)The questionnaire survey method, coach interview method, and mathematical statistics method were used to screen and determine the indicators for evaluating basic physical fitness of ice hockey. The analytic hierarchy process calculates the weights of 3 first-level indicators,7 second-level indicators and11 third-level indicators;(3)The grade evaluation(reference)criteria were initially determined using the percentile method for the measurement data of the indicators.Results:(1)The evaluation indicators of basic physical fitness of hockey players were shortlisted, including 3 primary indicators, body morphology, physical function and athletic quality;7 secondary indicators, body fullness, length, cardiorespiratory fitness, anaerobic capacity, strength quality, speed ability and agility ability;11 third indicators, body weight, height, shoulder width, body fat percentage, maximal oxygen uptake, quiet heart rate,hemoglobin,30 s max anaerobic power, standing long jump,30 m fast run and cross quadrant jump.(2)Determine the weight of each evaluation indicator, the primary indicator of body morphology, physical function and athletic qualities, with weights of 0.24,0.28,0.48,respectively.The body morphology indicators include weight, body fat percentage, height, shoulder width, with weights of 0.04,0.05,0.09,0.06.Physical function indicators include maximum oxygen uptake, quiet heart rate, hemoglobin, and 30-second maximum anaerobic power, with weights of 0.08,0.02,0.02,and 0.16,respectively.Athletic qualities indicators include standing long jump,30-meter fast run,and cross quadrant jump, with weights of 0.24,0.17,0.07,respectively.(3)The athletes’ indicators measurement data were statistically analyzed to obtain the preliminary single-indicator scoring criteria and the comprehensive evaluation rating scale.Conclusions:(1)Ice hockey basic physical fitness refers to the comprehensive non-specialized sports ability that can effectively complete various non-specialized training tasks on the basis of guaranteed health level at their junior stage, and also meet the needs of later participation in ice hockey training and competition, and be demonstrated in training and competition. The components include body fullness and length as the morphological guarantee, cardiorespiratory fitness and anaerobic capacity as the functional basis, and strength, speed and agility as the core athletic qualities.(2)Athletic quality is the most core component of the basic physical fitness of junior ice hockey players. The evaluation indicators reflecting body morphology, physical function and athletic qualities are scientific and feasible.(3)The individual scoring criteria and comprehensive rating criteria determined by the percentile method in this thesis are useful for constructing the selection criteria for youth hockey players in the future.
