China is a country of poetry,and classical poetry is the essence of Chinese traditional culture.Since the second half of 2019,the edition of primary school Chinese textbooks by Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China has achieved full coverage of compulsory education for 1-9 grades.Among them,the content of ancient poems has been increased significantly,highlighting the important position of ancient poems in primary school Chinese teaching.However,due to the short time use in the compilation of primary school Chinese textbooks,some teachers’teaching practical experience is not rich enough,resulting in not being able to adapt well to the changes in textbooks,especially in the teaching of ancient poems,and some confusion is inevitable.So,how to grasp the change intention of the ancient poems in the primary school Chinese textbooks and make good use of the ancient poems in the textbooks for effective teaching is worthy of consideration and exploration for every primary school Chinese teacher.This research is mainly based on humanistic teaching theory,constructivist teaching theory,cognitive development theory,etc.adopting literature research method,comparative analysis method,questionnaire survey method,classroom observation method,interview method and other research methods,this thesis compared and analyzed the characteristics of the selection of ancient poems in primary school Chinese textbooks.Taking B primary school in Qingxiu District of Nanning City as an example,through questionnaire surveys,observations,and interviews,this thesis investigated and analyzed the current situation of the teaching of ancient poems in the Chinese textbooks compiled in primary schools,and on this basis,proposed strategies for optimizing teaching.The main conclusions of the research are as follows.Firstly,grasping the change of teaching materials and the intention of changes is the basis of optimizing the teaching of ancient poetry in primary school Chinese textbooks.The ancient poems in the Chinese textbooks for primary schools in the edition by Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China show a big change compared with the PEP edition.The changes in the selection of essays are reflected in a substantial increase in the number,which is in line with the law of children’s learning and development;the addition of famous master essays highlights the excellent traditional culture;the distribution of topics is more balanced and the value orientation is more obvious.The changes in layout are reflected in the adoption of a two-line organizational unit structure,more emphasis on the accumulation and expansion of learning,supplemented by ink illustrations,more emphasis on infiltration of traditional cultural elements,expansion of the scope of annotations,and more emphasis on cultivating self-learning ability.Secondly,there are many problems in the teaching of ancient poetry in the current primary school Chinese teaching materials,such as the teaching objectives are not clear,the teaching methods are relatively simple,the teaching evaluation is lack of diversification and so on.The survey results shows that the main reasons for the above problems are the relatively weak quality of teachers in ancient poetry,the relatively outdated teaching concept,the inaccurate grasp of teaching objectives,the lack of research on the rules of ancient poetry teaching,and the relatively single standard of teaching evaluation.Thirdly,in view of the changes in the selection and compilation of ancient poems in the Chinese textbooks for primary schools and the various problems in actual teaching,the following optimization strategies can be adopted for the teaching of ancient poems in the Chinese textbooks for primary schools:to improve the cultural literacy of ancient poetry,to update the concept of ancient poetry teaching,to grasp the goal of ancient poetry teaching,to master the ancient poetry teaching rules,to master the teaching methods of ancient poems,and adopt diversified teaching evaluation methods.
