The urban publicity film aims to publicize the image of the city,expand the popularity and reputation of the city,and is an important video text for a city to display its own historical and cultural characteristics.Many city publicity films promoted by Wuhan in recent years have had a big response in society,especially among the local college student population.Since 2017,the Wuhan Municipal Government has implemented the "One Million College Students Staying in China Program",hoping to attract more young people to stay in Wuhan through various employment settlement policies.In addition to policy preferences,in fact,the recognition of Wuhan’s urban image and the establishment of a sense of place are also important factors that affect college students’ willingness to stay in China.In order to truly understand the possible impact of urban video text on the construction of the sense of students in Wuhan university,this paper borrows the concept of locality / sense of place from geography of media,uses text analysis and in-depth interview methods to try to find the local presentation of urban video text and the audience’s construction of sense of place.In the study,first of all,the four representative videos of Wuhan in recent years were selected as the video text,and statistical analysis of categories such as the perception layer,cognitive layer,and understanding layer of symbolic ideology was used to summarize Wuhan city video text in the local presentation.specialty.At the same time,the interviewed students in Wuhan University were invited to watch the selected urban video texts to learn more about their emotional and cognitive changes after viewing.On this basis,the impact of urban video texts on their sense of place construction was summarized.The study found that the text of Wuhan City Image focuses on showing the local landscape of Wuhan,conveying local customs,strengthening local charm,and presenting a three-dimensional and intuitive local image with modern vitality and emotional temperature.Interviewees may deepen their identity and emotional attachment to Wuhan through these local images constructed by these audio-visual symbols,thereby helping them build a local sense of Wuhan.
