| Procrastination is a widespread phenomenon in the whole society.It happens to people anytime and anywhere,and it affects people’s work,life and study.However,in our country,researchers have not attracted enough attention,and it is only in the last ten years that the research has gradually begun.In foreign countries,the research delay has a history of 40 or 50 years,the research is relatively mature.The author has been teaching in primary and secondary schools for a long time.Procrastination has a negative meaning,which reduces students’ academic achievement,and is accompanied by anxiety,depression and other emotions,which hinders students’ healthy growth.In this study,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 670 primary school students using the academic procrastination scale compiled by Lay to understand the academic procrastination status and demographic differences of primary school students from grade four to grade six.Besides,the reasons for students’ procrastination were analyzed through classroom observation and interviews,and the group psychological counseling program was designed.Twelve people were selected as the control group and the experimental group for the intervention study.The experimental group received 8 group psychological counseling activities,each of which lasted 60 minutes.The control group received no treatment.Both groups were asked to complete the academic procrastination scale before and after counseling.The results are as follows:(1)The academic procrastination of students in grades 4-6 is not serious,and most of them have it,but the degree is not serious.Among them,228 students with academic procrastination score less than 40 points,accounting for 35.79%;among them,553 students with score less than 60 points,accounting for 86.81%.There are a very small number of serious academic procrastination behavior,including academic procrastination score more than 80 points54 people,accounting for 8.48%.(2)There were significant differences in school,gender,singleton,class cadre,achievement and parental rearing attitude among grade 4-6 pupils,but no significant differences in grade.The academic delay level of urban and township students is significantly lower than that of rural students,and there is no significant difference between urban and township students.The academic delay level of girls is lower than that of boys.The academic delay level of class cadres is lower than that of non-class cadres;The academic delay level of the excellent students is lower than that of the middle students,while the academic delay level of the middle students is lowerthan that of the poor students.Students whose parents are strict have a lower level of academic delay than students whose parents are moderate,while students whose parents are moderate have a lower level of academic delay than students whose parents are lax.(3)The designed and implemented group psychological counseling is effective for the intervention of academic procrastination behavior in grade 4-6 pupils.After the intervention,the scores of students in the experimental group were significantly reduced,while the scores of students in the control group were not significantly different.The academic procrastination level of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group. |
