| Justice has always been the common pursuit of human society and history. Many hotspots, difficulties, and focal issues in the current society are related to the issue of social justice to varying degrees. The issue of social justice has become a more prominent developmental issue in China at this stage.Failure to properly deal with it will directly affect social stability and harmonious development.Humans hate injustice. As the saying goes,"At the sight of injustice with a roar," injustice will have a strong impact on individual emotions.College students are in the critical period of value formation and the key stage of socialization. The college student group is closely related to the issue of justice. The negative emotions caused by unfair events endanger the physical and mental health of college students and easily lead to bad social mentality. The emotional experience caused by injustice not only affects the attitudes and behaviors at the individual level, but also affects the intergroup behaviors and attitudes at the group level.Negative emotions such as anger will cause individuals to have more revenge and conflict behaviors. Therefore, research on sense of justice has very important practical significance.Based on this, this study explores the effects of justice at the trait level and the state level on moral emotions, and is divided into two studies.Study 1 explored the correlation between trait justice and moral emotion. In this study,a survey of 6 dimensions of trait justice Scale and 4 dimensions of moral emotion Scale was conducted on 665 college students using the Trait Justice Scale,Moral Emotion Scale,Belief in a Just World Scale and Neuroticism Scale, the research results found that there is a significant correlation between traits of justice and positive self-conscious moral emotion, negative self-conscious moral emotion, and positive others evaluated moral emotion, and there is no correlation between negative others evaluated moral emotion. The second study used 2(a sense of justice: fairness, injustice)× 2(different directions: self, others)to design the experiment between-subjects design to explore the causal relationship between state justice and moral emotions. The dependent variables are four dimensions of moral emotions: self-conscious moral emotions(positive, negative),and others’ evaluation of moral emotions(positive, negative). This experiment recruited 197 college students, randomly assigned to the self-justice group,self-injustice group, others ’justice group, and others’ unjustice group.Theresults found that:(1)In the effect of sense of justice and different orientations on positive self-consciousness and moral emotions, the main effect of different orientations was significant, and the self-group’s proud moral emotion was higher than others; It is also significantly higher than the injustice group;the interaction between the two is not significant.(2)Among the effects of sense of justice and different orientations on negative self-consciousness,morality and emotion, the main effects of different orientations are significant, and the self-group’s shame and guilt moral emotions are higher than others’ group;the sense of justice’s main effect is significant, and the justice group’s shame,The guilt and moral emotions were significantly lower than those of the injustice group;the interaction effect between the two was not significant.(3)In the impact of sense of justice and different orientations on the evaluation of moral emotions of positive others, the main effects of different orientations are significant, and the gratitude and noble moral emotions of self-groups are higher than those of others; The noble moral emotion is significantly higher than the injustice group;and the interaction effect between the two is also significant. In the self-directed group, the gratitude group and the noble moral emotion are significantly higher than the injustice group;in the others-directed group, the two do not exist significant differences.(4)In the effects of sense of justice and different orientations on the negative evaluation of moral emotions, the main effects of different orientations are not significant;the sense of justice is significant, and the anger, disgust, contempt and sympathy of the justice group are significantly lower than those of injustice Group;the interaction effect between the two is significant, under the condition of fair experience,self-directed group participants’ anger, disgust, contempt, sympathy and moral emotions are significantly higher than others’ directed group;under unfair experience conditions,self-directed group participants’ anger, disgust, contempt and sympathy are significantly lower than others’ pointing group.Further specific analysis found that the anger, disgust, and contempt that individuals experience when they encounter injustice are the same as those experienced by others when they encounter injustice, but individuals show more sympathy for others’ injustice. In summary, both trait justice and state justice are closely related to moral and emotional responses. The results of this study indicate that when college students perceive justice, more positive self-awareness and positive moral emotions of others will appear, and when college students perceive injustice, they will lead to morenegative self-awareness and negative moral emotions.Moreover,self-encounter is more intense than other people’s experience, but when they encounter injustice, whether they are self or others, they will cause the same degree of anger, disgust and contempt for the individual. Therefore,at the theoretical level, the research on the model of the influence of justice on moral emotions has enriched the theoretical research in the fields of justice and moral emotions. On the practical level, schools and society should strengthen education for justice, create a just environment, reduce the experience of injustice, and promote positive moral emotions can reasonably channel negative moral emotions and reduce bad social mentality. |
