The effective communication between teachers and parents can not only effectively help parents to get to know the school’s policies,norms and educational concepts,but also better support the school’s education.At the same time,it is also convenient for teachers to get to know students and their families,and to adopt targeted principles and methods to educate students,so as to realize home-school co-education.Starting from the theory of communicative behavior,the theory of effective verbal communication,the theory of overlapping influence threshold and other related theories,this study summarizes the multiple theories of verbal communication between teachers and parents.The dimensions of the survey adopted by the researchers are: teachers’ cognition of verbal communication with parents,the content of verbal communication between teachers and parents,the way of verbal communication between teachers and parents,the ability of verbal communication between teachers and parents,and the use of verbal communication skills between teachers and parents.The survey was carried out using stratified sampling in 10 samples(including 5 urban primary schools and 5 rural primary schools)for all the Chongqing primary schools.Moreover,200 teachers and 320 parents respond the survey and six of them accept the interview.In-depth understanding of the actual situation of verbal communication between teachers and parents,the existing problems and the causes of the problems.The results show that the overall level of verbal communication among primary school teachers in Chongqing is: the overall situation of verbal communication between teachers and parents is good,but there are also a series of problems.Through interviewing teachers and parents the study found that problems do exist in urban schools: lacking initiative in teachers,ignoring the subject status of parents,the content of speech communication and form a single,lack of verbal communication skills,classroom teachers lack of sense of responsibility,rural primary school teachers and parents speech communication situation is not ideal.The main causes of the problem are: the lack of professional guidance in the verbal communication between teachers and parents,the lack of assessment system for the verbal communication between teachers and parents,the inaccurate role positioning of teachers,the lack of competence in the verbal communication between teachers and parents,and the lack of role awareness and communication ability of parents.Based on the theory of multiple communication,in view of existing problems,the researchers put forward the following countermeasures: correct understanding of the speech communication with parents,teachers guide parents pay close attention to students’ all-round development,establishing a common effective teachers and parents to speech communication way,relying on the network medium innovative teachers and parents to speech communication way,relying on the network medium innovative teachers and parents way of speech communication,improve teachers’ verbal communication skills,improve classroom teachers and rural teachers’ communication consciousness and communication ability,through the way such as parents school,improve parents communication consciousness and ability.
