A Study On The Alleviation Of Loneliness Of The Elderly Living Alone In Cities From The Perspective Of Social Support

In the context of the accelerated development of China’s population aging,at the same time,due to changes in people’s living concepts and changes in family structure,the scale of elderly people living alone has expanded.Old people living alone are more vulnerable than ordinary old people.They have been living alone for a long time.They are very prone to psychological and emotional problems,and loneliness is the most prominent psychological problem of old people living alone.The common sense of loneliness of the elderly living alone is beyond the scope of daily emotional experience,and has become an important factor affecting the elderly’s quality of life in old age,and may even lead to various negative behaviors.General Secretary Xi Jinping’s report at the19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that the social contradictions in our country have transformed the contradictions between the people’s increasing needs for a better life and imbalanced and inadequate development.Psychological or spiritual needs are one of the needs of the people.At present,there are few researches and explorations on the elderly living alone in the academic circle,and they mostly focus on their medical needs,social assistance and other fields,and there are few studies on their specific psychological problems such as loneliness.This article takes the L community in Wuhan as an example.The author took the opportunity of the Love Angel Social Work Service Center to launch a project in the L community,and used questionnaires and interviews to understand the loneliness and social support of the elderly living alone in the L community.A total of 60 questionnaires were collected.Based on the questionnaire,10 in-depth elderly people who were generally lonely and highly lonely were selected for in-depth interviews.The survey found that the overall level of loneliness of elderly people living alone in the L community is relatively high,and there is a general phenomenon of loneliness.Statistical methods are used to analyze the influencing factors of the loneliness of elderly people living alone in the L community.The needs of loneliness are mainly health maintenance,emotional care,social participation,and self-identification.Due to the inadequacy of the social support network for the relief of loneliness,it is concluded that elderly people living alone need professional help.Therefore,the professional method of social work is chosen to intervene in the problem of loneliness of the elderlyliving alone in the city.The elderly case work method was used to intervene in the elderly living alone in the L community.During the intervention process,guided by theories of social support and other interventions,the client was able to build a comprehensive social support network through multiple interventions to meet his needs and ease his loneliness To improve the quality of life of elderly people living alone in their later years.Finally,it proposes supporting measures to improve social work in the problem of loneliness of the elderly living alone in the city in the future,and to improve the professionalism of social workers.In the process of intervention,it is necessary to strengthen the children’s spiritual care for the elderly living alone,promote the change of the elderly’s own concepts,and strengthen the government’s attitude towards living alone.The support of the elderly pays attention to the construction of a social support network for the elderly living alone in the city.This research combines theory with practice and uses professional methods of social work to help elderly people living alone in cities to alleviate their loneliness,meet their needs and reduce their loneliness.It has certain research value.In the intervention process,a case-work method was used.Individual differences,but did not intervene from a larger scope,and I look forward to comprehensively using multiple professional methods of social work to intervene in future research,in order to solve the problem of loneliness of elderly people living alone in the city in a wide range.
