On the basis of the existed researches, this study attempted to explore the feasibility of GNAT when be used to measure subjects’implicit shame, and preliminarily survey the characteristics of college students’implicit shame. What’s more the SS scale was used to measure college students’explicit shame, tried to explore the connection between the implicit shame and the explicit shame.Further more, PBI was used to measure the subjects’ parents’ education patterns, and explored the relationship between parents’ educaiton pattern and shame. In this study, we separately measured the140college students who came from Nanjing Normal University, the conclusions of this study are as follow:Study One:1) There was a significant effect on college students’ feeling of shame: one have a positive implicit effect on oneself, and have a negative implicit effect on others. And the application of GNAT was feasible for measuring implicit shame;2) There wasn’t any significant difference in college students’ implicit shame between different grades and genders;3)There was significant difference in college students’ implicit shame on fathers’ educaiton degrees, students whose fathers had lower education degrees showed higher level of implicit shame than those whose fathers had higher education degrees.Study Two:1) There wasn’t any significant gender difference in college students’ explicit shame, but significant difference was exist between different genders:The sophomores had significantly higher level of behavior shame than the freshmen;2) There was significant difference in college students’explicit shame score, individual character shame, and behavior shame between the different levels of parents’ education degrees:The students whose parents had lower education degree had higher level of shame than those whose parents had higher education degree;3) The college studentds’ explicit shame and implicit shame were not related to each other, they were two independent structures.Study Three:1) There was no significant correlation between parents’education pattern and implicit shame;2) There was significant positive correlation between parents’ educaiton pattern and explicit shame:There was significant negative correlation between the care factor, encourage factor and explicit shame. And there was significant positive correlation between control factor and explicit shame;3) The total score of explicit shame could be mainly predicted by the mother’s control and father’s care. The characteristic shame could be mainly predicted by the mother’s care and control. The behavior shame could be mainly predicted by the mother’s control and care. The body shame could be mainly predicted by mother’s control and father’s care. The family shame could be mainly predicted by father’s care and control.Through this study, we confirmed that it was reasonable and necessary to explore shame through an implicit view. There was significant implicit effect on college students’shame. And we also figured out that the implicit shame and explicit shame of college students were two independent parts. This was helpful to understand the shame through a more comprehensive way, and made up the respective that only study shame from the perspective way. For the first time, we tried to use GNAT program to explore the implicit shame, and its’validity has been proved, and showed the advantage of using GNAT to measure the implicit shame when compared with IAT. In addition, the Study Three helped us know more about the way how parents’ education pattern affect the college students’feeling of shame. It could give parents advice and inspirations about how to help their children have a healthy level of shame, and help the counseling practitioners to help their visitors.
