Students in secondary vocational schools are as old as those in ordinary high schools.However,there are more pressures from family,society and school to them.They suffered a failure in the high school entrance examination.Most of them have no choice but to choose vocational school.There are many problem behaviors of secondary vocational students.They feel inferior to themselves,fighting,smoking,drinking,and even suicide.Depression is a major cause of suicide.Depression is a persistent negative emotion,mainly caused by slow thinking,inattention,despair and certain physical symptoms.There are many changes in their life They often have psychological conflicts.It’s easy for them to get depressed.It is very important to study the influencing factors of secondary vocational school students’ depression.The purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship between depression,life events,friendship quality and psychological capital of secondary vocational school students,Through a sample survey of 3240 secondary vocational students in 10 secondary vocational schools of Changsha,according to the analysis:(1)The detection rate of depression in secondary vocational school students is 55.5%-67.2%.(2)There are significant differences of depression between gender,nature of school,grade,whether to be a student cadre or not.Women,private secondary vocational schools and students who did not serve as student cadres had higher scores of depression,and the scores of higher grade were significantly higher than that of Lower grade students(3)There are significant differences in life events between grade,origin,nature of school.Compared with Lower grade,cities and towns and public school students;higher grade students,from rural areas and private schools experience more life events.(4)Friendship quality have significant differences in origin,serve as a student cadre,major,gender,the nature of the school.As a student cadre,students from cities and towns,liberal arts majors,Women.public school students,have a higher level of friendship quality.(5)Psychological capital have significant differences in grade,gender,whether to be a student cadre or not.The level of psychological capital of Lower grade,men,as a student cadre is higher.(6)Secondary vocational school students mainly life events manifested from interpersonal relationship,study and be punished.(7)Whether to be a student cadre or not,have a significant differences in depression,friendship quality and psychological capital.The secondary vocational school students who served as a student cadre have a lower level of depression,higher level of friendship quality and psychological capital.(8)Life events were positively correlated with depression(r=0.59),negatively correlated with friendship quality(r=-0.22),and negatively correlated with psychological capital(r=-0.34)。Friendship quality was negatively correlated with depression(r=-0.35),psychological capital was negatively correlated with depression(r=-0.61),friendship quality was positively correlated with psychological capital(r=0.50).(9)The positive relationships between life events and depression can be mediated via Friendship quality.The positive relationships between life events and depression can be mediated via psychological capital.(10)The quality of friendship and psychological capital play a chain mediating role in the process of life events affecting depression. |
