Teenagers are at a critical stage of their life development.The development of the Internet has given them the door key to a new world,not only providing them with a platform for online learning,but also providing them with a variety of entertainment.In this context,based on the theory of self-worth orientation,this study investigated adolescents’ online game use,online game addiction and self-worth level,analyzed the relationship between adolescents’ online game use frequency and online game addiction,and explored the moderating effect of self-worth level between the two.This research mainly consists of two parts:research one mainly explores the influence of the frequency of online game use by adolescents on adolescents’ online game addiction from a cross-sectional perspective,and further examines the moderating effect of self-worth on this basis;research two adopts group psychology the way of counseling intervenes adolescents with low self-worth levels,further supports the moderating role of self-worth from a longitudinal perspective,and explores feasible intervention programs to improve the self-worth level of young people.The first study used a questionnaire survey and selected a total of 794 people in the seventh,eighth,and ninth grades of a middle school in Wuhan as the research objects,and examined the frequency of online game use,online game addiction and self-worth of teenagers.The results of Study 1 showed that:(1)Adolescents’ online game use frequency significantly positively predicts online game addiction;(2)Adolescents’self-worth level significantly negatively predicts online game addiction;(3)Adolescents’self-worth level Play a moderating role between the frequency of online game use and online game addiction.Based on research one,research two formulated a group psychological counseling program for improving adolescents’ self-worth level,and tested the data before and after the intervention group,and further explored that the improvement of self-worth level can effectively alleviate adolescents’ addiction to online games.The results show that it has passed Self-worth group psychological counseling can significantly improve the self-worth level of young people,thereby reducing the influence of online game use on online game addiction.On the one hand,the results of this study support the hypothesis of self-worth orientation theory,and provide a new perspective for exploring the psychology and behavioral mechanism of adolescents’ Internet addiction.In the future,we can conduct research from different aspects of self-worth,dig out the subtle reasons behind adolescents’ Internet addiction,and provide guidance and planning for the development of adolescents’ Internet behavior and psychology.
