With the rapid development of the Internet, it has become an indispensable partfor people’s lives, and Internet users are increasing dramatically. Subsequently, theonline games come into the Internet market and have attracted more and more people,especially popular among college students because of the characteristics ofimagination, immersion and interactivity. A wide range of online games makescollege students endeavor to participate in all, and students will often blindly choose,indulge and consume. These will affect the healthy development of theundergraduates’ physical, psychological and other aspects. In online games, someundergraduates consume a lot of time, immoderately seek role identity, self-esteem,emotional venting finally are addicted to online game.The phenomenon of onlinegames has become the hotpot of domestic scholars and foreign experts, in the study.Since I. Goldberg, as a psychologist, puts forward the addiction of online games, thescholars’ researches on the addiction of online games are gradually in-depth,focusing on the definition of the addiction of online games, diagnosis, proportion ofaddiction, the impact on the individual, the cause and treatment of addiction. Thefocus of current research is mainly about to analyze the diagnostic criteria andcharming on the addition of online games.Positive psychology as the science of dedicated to the study of humandevelopment potential and virtue, generated in the United States in late1990s. It isan important reference for the development of the ideology and method for collegestudents’ ideological and political education. It also promotes preventing collegestudents from addicting to online game. Author chooses undergraduate from threeuniversities in Sichuan Province, and conduct on questionnaires, analysis anddiscussion for these students that are inclined to the addition of online games. Thataims to understand the situation of their addiction to online games. In addition,combining with ideological and political education and positive psychology, we cananalysis the correlation between the addiction of online games and some mentalqualities, the differences between addictive students and non-addictive students andfinally prevent online game addiction by ideological and political education ofpositive psychology, This research consists of five parts; the main contents of each part are as follows:Part Ⅰ is introduction, mainly elaborated the background, the researchsignificance, the research actuality to know something about the addiction of onlinegames for the college students and the research results of positive psychology, andintroduced the research ideas, methods, difficulties and innovation of this article,being prepared for the in-depth study.Part Ⅱ is to introduce the related theory of the online games; the authorelaborates the definition, classification and characteristics of the online games, andthe influence on the college students.Part Ⅲ is the related introduction about positive psychology. This part firstlyelaborates development evolution of positive psychology, and then discusses onpositive psychology (taking positive emotions, positive personal traits and positivesocial organization system as basic points).Which leads to use the theory of positivepsychology to prevent the college students who are addicted on the online games.These are the theoretical preparation for the prevention measure which will be putforward behind.Part Ⅳ focuses on the empirical research and analysis of this study; as animportant role of this article. This part elaborates the situation of the addition ofonline games for college students, analyzes the relation between the online gamesaddiction of college students and positive psychological, according to thequestionnaire survey, data analysis and discussion.Part Ⅴ is to take the prevention measures on the addiction of the online gamesfor the college students as the main content. This part puts forward preventivemeasures to improve the college students’ personality, cultivate their optimism,develop their well-being, and strengthen the school, family and social organizationsystem. The author hopes these measures will be helpful to the healthy developmentof the college students.
