Research On The Employment Effect Of FDI From Laos To China

With the scale of China’s foreign direct investment into Laos is gradually expanding,and the role of foreign investment in Laos’ economic operation is increasingly important.When China’s foreign direct investment enters Laos to engage in production and operation activities,it indirectly creates employment opportunities and promotes economic growth through forward and backward linkages.At present,a large number of multinational companies have settled in Laos,and the scale of foreign investment in Laos is expanding with the increase of population.Foreign investment has a profound and significant impact on all aspects of Laos’ economy,including employment.As the impact of China’s foreign direct investment on Laos’ employment is multifaceted,this paper studies the impact of China’s foreign direct investment on Laos’ employment,and analyzes China’s foreign direct investment from multiple levels and perspectives on employment in Laos.The first chapter and the second chapter is the theoretical study of the impact of FDI on employment,mainly from the impact of FDI on the quantity,structure and quality of employment.The general situation of China’s FDI in Laos is mainly analyzed from industrial structure and geographical distribution of China’s FDI.The employment profile of Laos is mainly analyzed from the overall scale,the employment situation.The fourth chapter is the study of the impact of China’s FDI on Laos’ employment,mainly from the impact of FDI on the quantity,structure and quality of Laos’ employment.This paper analyzes the influence of FDI on the number of employment in China from two aspects:direct and indirect influence,industrial structure and regional structure,wage level.The fifth chapter is the policy suggestions of using China’s FDI to promote employment in Laos.Mainly from improving the scale of China’s foreign direct investment,improving the correlation between enterprises in the province and foreign-funded enterprises,guiding the flow of foreign capital to the tertiary industry,adhering to the strategy of technology intensive and laborintensive investment at the same time,reasonably guiding the location flow of foreign direct investment,etc.,to promote employment in Laos from improving the quality of workers,etc.The conclusion of this paper is that the employment income of Laos will increase by 3.47% when China’s FDI increases by one percentage point.The data also indicates that there is a close relationship between China’s FDI to Laos and the rise of domestic employment in Laos.Once China’s FDI rises,the corresponding employment in Laos will also rise,which means that China has increased its direct investment in Laos.We should continue to expand the investment scale of China’s FDI,strengthen the relationship between domestic enterprises and Chinese enterprises,guide China’s FDI to the tertiary industry,take into account technology intensive and labor-intensive industries,and improve the quality of domestic labor employment.
