To study the effects of aerobic exercise on endocrine cells in digestive tract of rats fed a high sugar diet,we used Grimelius silver staining and immunohistochemical Avidin-biotin-oxygenase complex method(ABC method)to study the argentaffin cells and Gastrin(Gas)cells and Glucagon(Glu)cells in the digestive tract of rats from normal diet groups(N),high sugar diet groups(H)and high sugar diet with aerobic exercise groups(HE).The argyrophil cells in the digestive tract of three groups of rats were studied by Grimelius silver staining. The results show that, the distribution of argyrophil cells in the gastrointestinal tract of the three groups of rats was the same, except for the esophagus, all other parts were observed. The three groups of rat argyrophil cells were observed to be oval, round, conical and fusiform, etc. However, the distribution density of argyrophil cells in the digestive tract was different. The N group has the most densely distributed parts of the gastric body, while the cardia and ileum are less in the trough area.In the H and HE groups, the stomach and cardia are the peak areas, and the jejunum, ileum and rectum are the trough areas.Comparing group H with group N,the number of cardia and pylorus increased significantly, while the number of other parts decreased significantly.Compared group H with group H,the number of cardia, duodenum, and cecum was not significantly different. The number of pylorus is extremely significantly reduced while the number of other parts is extremely significantly increased. The differences in the distribution density of gastrointestinal argyrophiles among the three groups indicate that high-sugar diet and high-sugar diet accompanied by aerobic exercise may affect the function of endocrine cells in the gastrointestinal tract of rats.Gas cells and Glu cells in digestive tract of three groups of rats were studied by ABC method. The results show that, the Gas cells in the gastrointestinal tract of the three groups were roughly the same in morphology, distribution location and density peak. The morphology mainly included cone, fusiform, ellipse and round, etc.,and the locations were all distributed in the pylorus, duodenum and jejunum. The peak density of the distribution is the pyloric part. However, the distribution density of Gas cells in the digestive tract was different. The number of each part was significantly decreased in group H compared with group N,and significantly increased in group HE compared with group H,there was no significant difference in the number of Gas cells between HE group and N group. The morphology, distribution location and density peak of Glu cells in the digestive tract of the three groups of rats were roughly the same. The morphology was mainly cone, fusiform, ellipse and round, etc.,and the locations were distributed in the jejunum, ileum, cecum, colon and rectum. The density peaks are in the ileum. However, there are differences in the distribution density of Glu cells in the digestive tract. There is no significant difference in the number of colon and rectum between the three groups of rats.Compared with group N,the number of jejunum and ileum is extremely significant, while the number of cecum is extremely significantly reduced. In group H,the number of jejunum and ileum was significantly reduced, while the number of cecum increased significantly. There was no significant difference in the number of Glu cells between HE group and N group. The difference in the distribution density of Gas cells and Glu cells in the gastrointestinal tract of rats among the three groups shows that the high-sugar diet will change the distribution density of Gas cells and Glu cells in the gastrointestinal tract of rats, while the high-sugar diet accompanied by aerobic exercise can affect the digestion of rats. The distribution density of gas cells and Glu cells in the tract has little effect, which indicates that aerobic exercise may regulate the function of some endocrine cells in the digestive tract of rats on a high-sugar diet.
