A Case Study On Optimizing Family Social Capital By Narrative Therapy

In recent years,suicide,domestic violence and depression have been constantly appeared in people’s vision.What’s more shocking,the victims of these incidents are children,which has aroused widespread concern about children’s psychological problem.Individuals’ psychological problems are often closely related to their childhood experiences.The theory of family system believes that the problems of family members are caused by the terrible communication style.A change in a family member will affect other family members.It can be seen that the family is the most important relationship space for children.Once the family system is disordered,it may cause trauma that affects the child’s whole life.To some extent,the family can be considered as the source of psychological trauma,as well as a start of healing trauma.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the family social capital of traumatized children.This study focuses on traumatized children,based on the goal of optimizing children’s family social capital to help them relieve psychological trauma.The author makes an analysis and summary of existing related research,using case study and interviews and other social work’s methods to interview traumatized children and their families.And select a child with more diverse and representative trauma types to launch casework service.On the basis of the family system theory and the social capital theory,the author underlines the family relationship,and the interaction among the family and other external systems related to children,exploring the causes of children’s psychological trauma.In addition,it’s beneficial for children to ease their psychological trauma by optimizing family social capital and expanding social support.With the narrative therapy theory as the core of practice,it helps children to externalize problems and stimulate internal positive strength to improve their own resilience.Finally,the study reflects on the whole service process from the perspectives of strategic choice,social support and policy advocacy.Also,propose suggestions for optimizing traumatized children’s social capital from the perspectives of family,school and society.
