As the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin has become a major national strategy,it is particularly important to understand the pattern of land and space development and protection from the perspective of the river basin.The city is the core of the region,the organizer and manager of the regional economy and society.Population is the most active and dynamic element in the ecological-economic-social system of the river basin.It is an important factor and external manifestation of the connection between cities.Its spatial distribution and migration phenomenon will cause The effect of "moving the whole body" plays a fundamental and crucial role in adjusting the human-land relationship in the river basin,reshaping the economic pattern of the river basin,ensuring the ecological safety and high-quality development of the river basin.Therefore,from the perspective of population migration,the links between cities within and outside the river basin and their network characteristics can be relatively clearly portrayed.This paper takes 84 prefecture-level administrative regions in the Yellow River Basin as the research object.Based on Tencent’s population migration big data,population migration connections are used to characterize inter-city network connections,using network density,average path length,cluster coefficients,multiple linear regression models,and spatial coupling analysis.And the Geodetector model analyzes and expresses the spatial distribution of nodes,network hierarchy,network structure,network differentiation and influencing factors of the city network in the Yellow River Basin,aiming at the ecological protection and high-quality development strategy background of the Yellow River Basin.The spatial characteristics of the city network in the Yellow River Basin and the differentiation laws behind the mining,in order to deepen the indication significance of city networks to urban and regional development under different conditions,enhance the understanding of the region,enrich regional geographic research,and provide regional urban system construction and rational transportation routes.Layout and world city construction provide reference.Concluded as follow:(1)The level and spatial distribution of nodes in the city network of the Yellow River Basin are unbalanced.National central cities,sub-provincial cities,and provincial capital cities are the most active areas of population migration and become the core nodes of the organizational network.From cars to trains to airplanes,transportation carriers are becoming more efficient,and network nodes have an increasingly strong influence on the polarization of population distribution,and more cities outside the region appear in city networks.(2)The integrity of the high-level network is poor.A small number of network paths are responsible for huge population migration.The population migration undertaken by the network level does not match the number of city pairs involved at the network level.As the network level moves down,The average path distance of the network gradually increases.The external connections of the basin are mainly concentrated in the core cities of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,Yangtze River Delta,Pearl River Delta and Chengdu-Chongqing region.(3)The center place mode and network mode coexist in the Yellow River Basin,and the city-ness and town-ness have formed an organic unity.The high-level network is more of the connection between the core cities.As the network level moves down,the secondary core and non-core cities are added to the network connection.High-level networks reflect more city-ness.The higher the network level,the stronger the city-ness.As the network level moves downwards,more is the "city-region" structure under the central location model,emphasizing central cities and hinterland(Sub-core and non-core urban areas).There are horizontal network connections and vertical network connections in the network.In the horizontal network connections,more are the cross-regional connections between core cities.In the network vertical connections,more intra-domain cities or hinterland cities are connected.(4)The level of employment,the level of urban construction and investment,and the level of medical education have become the dominant factors affecting the differentiation of city network nodes in the Yellow River Basin.The law of distance decay plays an important role in the formation of the network structure.There are huge differences in the suitable transport distances for different modes of transportation,and the resulting migration capacity is also significantly different,which in turn leads to different city network levels and hinterland areas.The layout of aircraft routes,the layout of railway lines and the regional differentiation of high-speed rail speeds,and the layout of expressway networks have shaped the spatial structure of the city network in the Yellow River Basin.The nature of city network nodes and the basis of the layout of traffic routes form the optimal link of the city network.
