Research On The Dissemination Of Modern Sports Science Knowledge In The Eastern Miscellany

"The Eastern Miscellany" was founded in March 1904 and finally published in December 1948.It has been published for 45 years.It is known as "the earliest and the longest growing journal" and is a faithful recorder of modern history.As a specific product of the social environment and historical conditions at that time,modern sports also attracted the attention of "The Eastern Miscellany".It not only published many articles about the introduction and comments of modern sports activities,as well as the translation of western sports views and development methods,but also reported a large number of domestic sports activities with special sports magazines.It played an important role in the dissemination of modern sports scientific knowledge and strengthened the attention and popularization of modern sports in China to a certain extent.This paper makes a special study on the modern sports communication of "The Eastern Miscellany",including military and national sports,school sports,sports health and health care,mass sports,competitive sports,female sports and national traditional sports.According to the development of modern history and the change of sports thought,the communication content can be divided into four periods: from the late Qing Dynasty to the founding of the Republic of China(1904-1911),from the founding of the Republic of China to the May 4th Movement(1912-1919),from the May 4th movement to the comprehensive anti Japanese War(1920-1936),and from the comprehensive anti Japanese War to the founding of new China(1937-1948)Different characteristics.The author thinks that the dissemination of "The Eastern Miscellany" focuses on three aspects: national sports,school sports and mass sports,and analyzes the dissemination practice of "The Eastern Miscellany" in these three aspects.The advertisements published in "The Eastern Miscellany" introduce books and sporting goods related to sports.In terms of picture reports,a large number of sports pictures and illustrations in articles in Oriental pictorial make sports content more vivid and sports image more intuitive.At the same time,this paper analyzes the sports special issue published by "The Eastern Miscellany",thinks that it attaches importance to the role of sports,probes into the problems encountered in the development of modern sports,and puts forward some targeted solutions."The Eastern Miscellany" not only has rich contents but also various forms for the dissemination of modern sports scientific knowledge.Its attention to the development of sports such as national sports,school sports and mass sports,to a certain extent,promotes the reform and development of modern sports,shows its role as a mass media,and presents a moving picture of the development and changes of modern sports.
