National identity,is a political concept,it refers to the citizens of a country which country belong to oneself of cognition,and on the composition of the country,such as political,cultural,ethnic elements of evaluation and emotion,is the sublimation of ethnic identity and cultural identity.Middle school students are the hope of the future,especially important for the cultivation of patriotism.And sport has been a strong national identity tools.How to explore the positive effect of sports education,sports combing patriotic education has been a topic worth a deeper thought.Taking Xiamen city as an example,this study through the questionnaire survey method,interview method to explore the relationship between sports and middle school students’ national identity,provide a reference for later patriotic education of middle school students,the results showed that:Middle school students take an interest in watching sports events in general.They posses a basic understanding on the concept of national identity,thus own a great potential in further education.The study indicates that middle school students in Xiamen city have a strong sense of patriotism,sports events have positive impact on national recognition.Students’ preference on sports,frequencies and time on watching games pose obvious influence on their national recognition.Students who like to watch sports games score obviously higher on the national identity than those who don’t.Watching sporting events 2 ~ 3 / week(each time for 1~2 hours)has the most positive impact on promoting national identity.
