Research On The Design And Implementation Of Children’s English Teaching Activities In Private Education And Training Institutions

Parents are extremely concerned about their children’s English learning,the growing demand for English education,English learning presents a trend of younger age,private education and training institutions take the lead in carrying out children’s English education and training activities,children’s English learning has been highly concerned by the society.Based on constructivist learning theory,Vygotsky’s "zone of proximal development" theory,the second language acquisition critical period theory and whole language theory,this paper uses questionnaire method to investigate 152 English teachers from 42 private education and training institutions in P District of Wuhan Activity implementation and evaluation were investigated;At the same time,using the observation method,randomly select one small class,one middle class and one large class,continuously observe 20 English classes for each class,and observe and record the implementation of English teaching objectives and contents,the interaction between teachers and children,the use of teaching methods and teaching effect,so as to deeply understand the current situation of children’s English teaching activities in private education and training institutions;With the help of interview method,this paper conducts semi-structured interviews with three English teachers and three parents of children to explore the problems and causes of the design and implementation of English teaching activities in private education and training institutions.The results show that most preschool English teachers regard the cultivation of children’s interest in English learning as the main goal of preschool English teaching;There are various teaching skills in English teaching activities;Using modern teaching equipments.But there are also some problems: first,in the design of English teaching,the goal of English teaching activities is too much emphasis on the achievement of cognitive goals;The theme and content source of English teaching activities are relatively rigid;Second,in the implementation of English teaching activities,the interaction between teachers and children is relatively monotonous;Teachers fail to make full use of oral English to organize teaching activities;Teachers’ evaluation of children’s English learning activities is not scientific.The main reasons are: the orientation of children’s English Teaching in private education and training institutions is not accurate;The creation of children’s English learning environment is insufficient;The professional teaching ability of preschool English teachers is not good;they lack of effective communication between teachers and parents.Accordingly,this paper puts forward suggestions to improve the design and implementation of children’s English teaching activities in private education and training institutions from the aspects of private education and training institutions and children’s English teachers.In terms of private education and training institutions: accurately positioning the goal of children’s English teaching activities to achieve the educational value of children’s English teaching activities;To create a good language environment for children’s English teaching and improve children’s learning effect;Establish a reasonable school-based training mechanism to improve the teaching ability of preschool teachers;Improve the evaluation system of children’s English teaching activities to ensure the quality of children’s English teaching activities.As for teachers,they should establish the concept of lifelong learning and improve their English communication ability;Optimize the implementation path of English teaching activities,enrich children’s language learning experience;Carry out various forms of home school cooperation to improve parents’ participation in children’s English teaching activities.
