| As one of the most important forms of school-based teaching and research,lesson study is an important way to promote communication and sharing among teachers,to help teachers improve their teaching and to achieve self-improvement.Effective lesson study is based on promoting teachers’ professional development.The professional standard of primary school teachers includes three parts: professional idea and ethics,professional knowledge and professional ability.The effectiveness of lesson study requires that the activities of lesson study should promote the development of teachers’ professional ideas and ethics,the growth of professional knowledge and the improvement of professional ability.Of course,the effectiveness of activity result is closely related to the effectiveness of the process.So this paper explores the effectiveness of lesson study from two aspects: the process and the final result of the activity.In our country,most primary schools will carry out lesson study activities to improve teachers’ teaching ability and help teachers solve problems in teaching practice.But there are still some problems for us to study further: What is the overall status of teachers in lesson study activities? What is the current status of lesson study? Is the activity effective? Does it promote the professional development of teachers? What are the problems with lesson study activities? How can we improve the effectiveness of lesson study? Based on the above problems,firstly,I explained the reason of the topic selection from the realistic background and my own experience,and then I have combed and analyzed the relevant literature of school-based teaching and research,lesson study and teachers’ professional development.At last,I define the definition,the standard of validity and the connotation of teachers’ professional development,and research on the basis of the theory of observation learning,reflective teaching and practical community.From the theory exploration to the practice exploration,This paper uses the literature analysis,the questionnaire survey,the depth interview to understand the present situation and effectiveness of the primary school teachers’ view of lesson study:1.The present situation of primary lesson study activities in primary schools: I conducted a survey of teachers’ willingness to pursue professional development.It is found that most teachers in primary schools have the intention to improve their professional development,and the demand for professional development focuses on their professional knowledge and competence.The intention of teachers’ professional development directly affects teachers’ attitude towards lesson study.The stronger the teachers’ intention of professional development,the deeper understanding of the function and significance of lesson study.From the overall attitude of teachers to lesson study,some teachers are not willing to participate in lesson study activities.Different teachers have different understanding of the significance of activities.Many teachers think that lesson study usually focuses on form,not content.From the perspective of the preparation process of lesson study activities,most teachers will make preparations in advance before activity,and choose the focus according to the theme,with different focuses on the content.However,some schools still have the problem that the theme of lesson study is not clear and it affects the effect of activities.From the process and result of lesson study,teachers are not active enough in activities.The effect of lesson study activities needs to be improved.2.The effectiveness of lesson study activities in primary schools: Lesson study is effective for teachers’ professional development.It is helpful to the development of teachers’ professional ideas and ethics,the growth of professional knowledge and the improvement of professional ability.However,some teachers point out that the problems existing in lesson study activities affect the effect of activities.That is,the effectiveness of lesson study activity process affects the effectiveness of activity result.In the survey,I found that there are many factors affecting the effectiveness of lesson study: The theme of lesson study activities is not clear.The teacher’s preparation before lesson study is not enough.The atmosphere of study and discussion is not positive.The content of the teacher’s comments on the lesson is sketchy.Teachers rarely reflect on themselves after the activity.Addressing the above issues,I have put forward the corresponding strategies:Firstly,We should set up a theme in advance and ask teachers to prepare activities according to the theme;Secondly,we should build a good atmosphere in lesson study and improve teachers’ initiative in teaching and research;It is very important to enhance teachers’ ability of teaching and research.At last,don’t forget the self reflection and summary after the activity.Only by improving the effectiveness of the lesson study activities,can it be better to promote teachers’ professional development. |
