Under the background of global informatization,the country’s demand for innovative talents is increasing day by day.STEM education is an educational form that integrates science,technology,engineering,mathematics and other disciplines to conduct interdisciplinary teaching,so as to cultivate students’ scientific and technological creativity.In China,STEM education is gradually becoming localized.Relevant practitioners actively develop localized STEM education curriculum resources and carry out educational practices to cultivate students’ innovative ability and problem-solving ability.There are various forms of STEM teaching practice,and it is highly feasible to implement STEM education in the science curriculum of primary schools in China.However,there are still some problems in the development and implementation of the school-based science textbooks of primary schools based on STEM concept,such as the lack of systematicness of school-based textbooks that embody STEM concept,and the lack of the integration of science,technology,engineering and mathematics in the school-based science textbooks of primary schools.This study uses literature analysis,design-based research and interview method to carry out the research.Literature review on STEM education research in China was conducted,and two sets of typical STEM textbooks were analyzed.On this basis,based on the research of design,this paper puts forward the module content and organization method of primary school science school-based textbooks design content and textbook case compilation based on STEM concept,carries out the specific textbook case design,and makes the implementation effect analysis.On the basis of the practice of national curriculum and local curriculum,this paper analyzes the knowledge framework in the new curriculum standard textbooks of primary school science,and selects the important knowledge points suitable for STEM education practice in the textbooks of primary school science.Guided by the problems in real situations,the main teaching mode is project-based learning,and the design and development of primary science school-based curriculum and teaching materials based on STEM education philosophy.The textbook cases cover three fields of material science,life science,earth and space science,and are divided into six grades.According to the principle of learning progression,they are arranged from the shallow to the deep,totaling 7,697 words.The teaching materials were used in L school for one semester.The concrete teaching case teaching results show that the set of teaching materials to some extent to meet in the primary school science textbooks to develop STEM education requirements,as in the primary school science curriculum to develop STEM education to provide learning resources,help students ability of the science and technology innovation and problem solving,to practice the concept of STEM design of school-based textbooks in the elementary school science and provide reference for school-based textbook compilation.The innovation of this study is that it proposes the content of primary school science school-based textbooks design that embodies the STEM concept and designs an appropriate school-based teaching material system based on the knowledge framework of primary school science,strengthens the systematization of STEM curriculum and deepens the connection between various disciplines,combs the relevant theories of STEM textbooks design,and tries to provide reference for the textbooks design of STEM concept practice.
