Research On The Evolution And Communication Characteristics Of Netizens’ Emotions In Predictable Disasters

Our country is a country with frequent disasters.Among all kinds of disasters,disasters such as typhoons and snowstorms have an obvious pre-disaster warning stage compared with sudden disasters such as earthquakes.The network public opinion environment for such predictable disasters begins to form in the pre-disaster stage.The evolution and dissemination of netizens’ emotions in the pre-disaster stage has a major impact on the proper response to disasters.With the rapid development of Internet technology,social media such as We Chat and Weibo have penetrated deeply into people’s lives,providing information production platforms and channels for the formation of public opinion environments for various hot events.It also carries the information transmission and emotional expression of the majority of netizens on hot events.However,due to the concealment,real-time,and openness of social media,the spread of netizens’ emotions is faster and the scope of influence is wider.The complexity and influence of emotion communication also make the emotions expressed by netizens in social media play an increasingly important role in policy-making and decision-making.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the emotional evolution and emotional communication characteristics of netizens in predictable disasters,so as to form an emotional guidance strategy for netizens in such disasters.This paper comprehensively applies sentiment analysis,text mining and social network analysis methods to visually display themes under different netizens’ emotions through topic mining,linking sentiment evolution with topic evolution,and deepening the analysis of netizens’ emotion evolution.In addition,by embedding the emotions of netizens into the structure of information dissemination network,the characterization and research of the characteristics of netizens’ emotion communication are carried out.Specifically,the main research work of this paper includes: First,this paper takes Typhoon Mangosteen as a specific analysis case,selects the Weibo platform as the data source,and then crawls and organizes the Weibo data related to this case;Second,this paper identifies and visualizes the emotions of netizens,and explores the thematic factors behind different emotions to complete the analysis of the evolution of netizens’ emotions;Third,this paper constructs an emotional communication network structure based on the forwarding relationship between netizens,and analyzes the characteristics of the communication network structure of predictable disasters as a whole,and then analyzes the characteristics of the emotional communication of netizens through emotional embedding;Fourth,this paper identifies the key nodes in the process of emotional communication and analyzes their emotional influence,then this paper bases on the path to analyze the characteristics of netizens’ emotional communication;Fifth,based on the results of the analysis,this paper proposes strategies and recommendations for netizens’ emotional guidance suitable for predictable disasters.This paper’s analysis and research on Weibo data related to Typhoon Mangosteen shows that:First,in predictable disasters,positive emotions are the dominant emotions of netizens;Second,in the pre-disaster stage,netizens’ emotional communication is more active,changes in emotional tendencies are more complex,and there is more room for emotional guidance and intervention;Third,the transmission path of netizens’ emotions is long,and the emotional tendencies of netizens will be directly and indirectly affected by multiple communication nodes;Fourth,the influence of each node on the path of netizens’ emotion transmission is different,and the influence of key nodes is more significant,which has an emotional guiding role.According to the research content and conclusions of this paper,the guidance strategies proposed in this paper based on the unique characteristics and emotional evolution characteristics of predictable disasters include:(1)Combining authoritative pre-disaster warning with the popularization of disaster knowledge;(2)Using the pre-disaster stage to collect and process the needs of netizens in a disaster in a timely manner.Guiding strategies and suggestions based on the characteristics of emotional communication include:(1)The government should give full play to the information diffusion role of key nodes to help the diffusion of official authoritative information;(2)The government should give full play to the emotional guiding role of key nodes,and timely monitor and deal with false or inappropriate comments at key nodes;(3)Make good use of social media platforms to actively communicate with the majority of netizens.In the theoretical value of the research on netizens’ emotions in predictable disasters,this paper refines the classification of public opinion analysis objects and explores the application of existing Internet public opinion analysis methods in specific research scenarios.In terms of application value,it fills up the deficiencies in the research and actual management of such predictable disasters such as typhoons by academic research and emergency response agencies,and minimizes the losses caused by predictable disasters.
