Children’s learning not only needs knowledge and skills,but also positive attitude and good behaviors.The approach to learning of children focuses on their learning ability and attitude,so that children can get all-round development.Sudoku can train children’s logical thinking and promote the development of children’s approach to learning.At the same time,the observation is basis on approach to learning in sudoku to support teachers to observe children’s approach to earning.This study explores the development of approach to learning of middle class children in kindergarten on basis of Sudoku.The Observation and Assessment Table of Children’s approach to earning was used to analyze the performance and characteristics of middle class children’s approach to earning in Sudoku.The conclusions are as follows:First,middle class children’s approach to learning in sudoku is good.Second,there is a significant gender difference in the curiosity and interest,persistence and concentration in approach to learning of middle class children in Sudoku.While there is no significant gender difference in the initiative,expression reason and error discovery.Third,the strategies for middle class children to successfully solve sudoku problems include naked single method,row and row hidden single method,trial and error method,adjustment method and the combination of these methods.They are from the non-strategy stage to the pre-strategy stage,reflecting the characteristics of dynamic,uncertain and externalization.Fourthly,there are significant differences in the completion results among children with different approach to learning in Sudoku.Children with high score for approach to learning are more likely to successfully and accurately complete the challenges in Sudoku.There was no significant difference in difficulty choices and time between the children with high score for approach to learning and those with low score for approach to learning.According to the research results,this study suggests that teachers should give children’s feedback and summarize of sudoku,pay attention to train children’s reflection and interpretation,pay attention to train the boys’ curiosity and interest,persistence and focus,provide difficult tasks for children of different abilities.Finally,children’s Approach to learning can promote in the Sudoku.
