With the changes in the social living environment,China’s demographic structure has undergone major changes. The impact of changes in demographic structure on economics and finance has become the focus of academic research.Based on existing research at home and abroad, this paper divided the demographic structure into natural structure, social structure and geographical structure, and explor ed the impact of its changes on the demand for commercial health insurance as an important part of the insurance industry in China. On this basis, the paper further analyzed the contribution rate of demographic structure changes to the growth of health in surance demand,so as to provide suggestions for the healthy deve lopment of China’s commercial health insurance market. This paper constructed panel data sets of 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China from 2006 to 2019,used dynamic panel data models and systematic generalized moment estimation methods for empirical research analysis. On the basis of empirical analysis to obtain the results of the impact effect, the C-D production function was used to specifically measure the contr ibution rate of the corresponding demographic indicators to the growt h of health insurance demand,so as to analyze the influence degree of the change of demographic structure on the growth of commercial health insurance demand in each region. The empirical results show that in the natural structure of the population, the old-age dependency ratio and the sex ratio of the population hav e a significant positive impact on the demand for commercial health insurance;in the social structure of the population, the proportion of married people and the average household size have a significant positive impact on the demand for commercial health insurance. The average number of years of education has a negative impact on the demand for commercial health insurance;in the geographical structure of the population, the proportion of urban population has a significant positive impact on the demand for commercial health insurance.Through the calculation of the contribution rate,it is found that the contribution rate of th e elderly dependency ratio index in the eastern regions such as Beijing,Shanghai and Guangdong to the growth of commercial health insurance demand is lower than that o f the Northeast and Ningxia regions, and its contribution rate of urban population proportion index is lower than the central and western regions like Sichuan,Yunnan and Henan Province. |
