Xinyang is known as "The southern part of the North,the southern part of the North".Its profound historical civilization and livable environment of mountains and rivers have bred its sincere and beautiful charm.With the improvement of economy and residents’ living standard,leisure mode has been integrated into residents’ life in a new width and depth.Based on the high attention to health,urban residents increasingly realize the importance of leisure sports;At the same time,the construction of the city promotes the development of leisure sports,leisure sports can also provide a good help for the harmonious social development of the city.To this end,Xinyang city government vigorously organized residents to create a national "15-minute fitness circle",Xinyang red culture,green tourism and leisure sports combined,strong to create a healthy Xinyang,improve the happiness index of residents,promote the development of the national fitness cause.This study focuses on the development status of leisure and fitness activities of urban residents in Xinyang City of Henan Province.By using the methods of literature,questionnaire,field investigation and other research methods,it makes relevant investigation and research on urban residents participating in leisure and fitness activities in Xinyang City.To fully understand their motivation to participate in leisure fitness,leisure sports method and its effect on the activity causes the basic situation,strive to fully grasp the basic situation of the Xinyang city residents recreational fitness and facing problems,and provides a reasonable reference opinions,so that to promote the development of Xinyang city residents leisure fitness sports provide theoretical basis.The results show:(1)Residents tend to participate more in projects with lower cost,which is relatively limited;more women than men participated in the activities,and retired groups,elderly groups and high-income groups paid more attention to health.The development of science and technology can provide residents with a wide range of leisure information.(2)There are many public leisure venues in Xinyang city.Squares and parks are the main leisure places for citizens.Xinyang gymnasium and sports venues and facilities of colleges and universities are rarely open to the public.The functions and types of infrastructure are single,and the public resources cannot be reasonably allocated,which cannot meet the diversified fitness needs of residents,which to a certain extent hinders the development of leisure sports in Xinyang city.(3)The form of leisure sports participation is mainly personal;Communities are important governing bodies;in physical exercise,social sports instructors are scarce,and the proportion of professional instructors in outdoor sports is relatively small.(4)Xinyang residents have a low cognitive attitude to participate in leisure sports,and their understanding of the selected sports is not enough.Most residents’ fitness time cannot meet the basic requirements of the national fitness time.Residents’ satisfaction with government behavior and sports organization form is low,which reduces residents’ interest in leisure sports.(5)The favorable factors for Xinyang’s leisure sports to move forward are mainly supported by national policies.Tourism development;the increase of leisure sports consumption input and residents’ leisure demand;the development of leisure sports industry and the continuous improvement of city visibility and city comprehensive level.However,the development of leisure sports is restricted by the lack of site infrastructure,physical and geographical conditions,lack of social sports instructors,media publicity,lack of competition selection and lack of leisure time.
