Objective: By analyzing the hip and knee joint kinematics and related hip muscle surface EMG indexes of male runners during running, and comparing the differences of above indexes between ITBS patients and healthy runners, the purpose of this paper is to find the characteristics of kinematics and muscle activation of ITBS patients after injury, and to provide strategies for injury prevention. Methods: 20 subjects who met the inclusion criteria were divided into ITBS group(10ITBS patients)and control group(10 healthy subjects),the motion capture system and surface electromyography tester were used to test the 30 min of the two groups of subjects running at a speed of ≥ 2.78m/s,collected the hip and knee joint angles and the root mean square of the muscles around the hip during running 3min,15 min and 30 min. After the collected data are sorted out by Excel table, the data are tested by independent sample t test with SPSS25.0statistical software. Results: Surface electromyography:(1)The average RMS of gluteus maximus muscle in ITBS group was significantly different from that in control group at 3 minutes(P<0.05),there was no significant difference in RMS at 15 and 30 minutes between the two groups(P﹥0.05).(2)The average RMS of gluteus medius muscle in ITBS group was significantly different from that in control group at 15 minutes(P<0.05),there was no significant difference in RMS at 3minutes and 30 minutes between the two groups(P ﹥ 0.05).(3)There was no significant difference in the mean value of TFL between the ITBS group and the control group at 3minutes,15 minutes and 30 minutes(P ﹥ 0.05).Kinematics:(1)There was no significant difference in the average maximum angle of hip joint between the ITBS group and the control group at different time points(P﹥0.05).(2)There was significant difference in the average maximum angle of knee flexion between the ITBS group and the control group at 3 minutes and 15 minutes(P<0.05),there was no significant difference in other movement directions of the knee joint between the two groups(P﹥0.05),there was no significant difference in the average maximum angle of the three planes of the knee joint between the two groups at 30minutes(P﹥0.05).Conclusions:(1)In patients with iliotibial band syndrome, there are different compensatory modes of gluteus maximus and gluteus medius muscle in ITBS patients at different time points during running. The gluteus maximus muscle produces compensatory movement in the early stage of running, and the gluteus medius muscle produces compensatory movement in the middle stage of running.(2)In patients with iliotibial band syndrome, the activation of tensor fascia lata increases with the extension of running time, resulting in a new compensatory mode, and the male runners carry out appropriate relaxation and stretching activities before and after running to prevent the occurrence of iliotibial band syndrome.(3)The flexion angle of knee joint increases in patients with iliotibial band syndrome at different time points during running, indicating that it is related to the pathogenesis of patients with iliotibial band syndrome.
