Research On The Impact Of Digital Economy Development On China’s Employment Structure

The development of digital economy has brought both unlimited opportunities and great challenges to China’s employment.Bringing the development of digital economy and the change of employment structure into the same analytical framework can not only enrich the research content of digital economy development,but also be of great significance to how to ensure employment,people’s livelihood and market players in the era of digital economy,so as to maintain social stability and high-quality economic development.On the basis of combing and referring to the existing literature,this paper discusses the direct path of the development of digital economy affecting the change of employment structure and the indirect path of the change of employment structure through the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure;Based on the connotation of digital economy,this paper constructs the evaluation index system of digital economy development level from the three dimensions of digital economy infrastructure,industrial digitization and digital industrialization,and comprehensively evaluates the digital economy development level of 30 provinces and cities in China from 2013 to 2019 by using the vertical and horizontal grading method,revealing its trend change characteristics and spatial distribution characteristics;This paper empirically analyzes the impact of digital economy on employment structure by using panel data model,and makes a sub sample analysis from the perspective of geographical heterogeneity and the heterogeneity of digital economy development level;The intermediary effect model is used to verify the intermediary effect of industrial structure optimization and upgrading;Using the threshold effect model,this paper explores the impact of digital economy on the change of employment structure under different urbanization levels.Finally,according to the research conclusions,put forward relevant policy suggestions.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:（1）the development level of digital economy in all regions of China shows a steady increasing trend,but the inter provincial differences are significant,indicating that the phenomenon of "digital divide" does exist and is more serious,and the differences of regional digital economy level show a decreasing spatial change pattern in the East,central and West;（2）The development of digital economy can promote the optimization and upgrading of China’s employment structure,but there are regional heterogeneity.The promotion effect of digital economy developed areas is stronger than that of digital economy underdeveloped areas,and the promotion effect of eastern and central regions is obviously stronger than that of western regions;（3）The development of digital economy has significantly promoted the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure;（4）The upgrading of industrial structure has a certain intermediary effect.The intermediary effect in the employment structure of high,medium and low skilled labor force is 64.22% and 42.71% respectively;（5）The level of urbanization has a threshold effect,which is 42.66% and 70.19% respectively.With the improvement of the level of urbanization,the positive role of the development of digital economy in the optimization and upgrading of employment structure has increased significantly.Based on the results of empirical analysis,policy suggestions are put forward:（1）optimize and upgrade digital infrastructure and vigorously develop digital economy;（2）Promote the development of digital industrialization and promote employment through entrepreneurship;（3）Steadily promote industrial digitization and reasonably control structural unemployment;（4）Promote urbanization,increase employment,increase investment in education and stabilize employment;（5）Promote the optimization of industrial structure and promote the upgrading of employment structure.
