| Under the condition that autism spectrum disorder(ASD)as one of the most severe neruodevelopmental disorder,there are a huge number of autistic children whose living situation cannot be ignored.The public’s understanding and judgment of autism depends mostly on the presentation of media texts.The misuse of the concept of autism by the media,and the accordingly unfavorable reports on autistic children will amplify the public’s negative perception of children and worsen the sociocultural environment for inclusive education.Based on social construction theory,the study shows the process of presentation of autistic children’s media images,and then describes the culturally and ecologically living environment of autistic children,providing the evidence of improving social conditions and constructing ecological system for supporting inclusive education for children with autism spectrum disorder.The research was based on the autism-related news reports of People’s Daily,Guangming Daily and China Youth Daily from 2010 to 2020,obtaining 187 relevant texts of which a total of22 reported on the theme of inclusive education.Using content analysis,the characteristics of autism and autistic children were sorted out and analyzed according to the form and content categories,as well as the opinions on inclusive education were concluded in news reports.As for the second part,autism-related blog posts published by users of Weibo in 2021 were also obtained by data mining in Python programming language,and the topic modeling of the posts published by different user groups was carried out.254 micro-blogs relating to inclusive education for autistic children were filtered and analyzed from the texts.Synthesizing the content of media texts,the study concluded media images of autistic children and the characteristics of media presentation.There were mainly three opposing types of media images of children with autism spectrum disorder,namely the shackle and the booster,people with deficient ability and improved ability,the outsider and the insider.There were two extreme metaphors relating to the media images of autistic children which were mysterious goodliness and alternative genius,helpless despair and heavy burden.When presenting the media images of autistic children,the media usually focused on the following three aspects: Due to the convergence of media culture on audience cognition,the pseudo-concept of autism in media was prevailing;The abnormal characteristics of children with autism spectrum disorder was influenced by socially inherent cognitive judgements and discrimination,making them stigmatized;The tendency of autistic children to be “normal” in social culture provided concealment for their disadvantageous position.This research concentrated on the discussion of inclusive education for autistic children reflected in news reports and Weibo posts,and summarized the policy orientation,guarantee support and value pursuit which were highlighted when presenting the implementation of inclusive education.Based on the features of media images of children with autism spectrum disorder,the relationship between media opinions on inclusive education and media images of autistic children was discussed in the research.The opposing attributes of the images of children with autism spectrum disorder in media texts were also proved in issues related to inclusive education.Autistic children faced with coexistent resistance and prospect in inclusive education.However,influenced by the media prospective of vulnerable groups,the disadvantages of autistic children became more prominent in this issue.Presented by the media,the concept of inclusive education of rejection was a reflection of the negative media images of autistic children in school environment.Ordinary schools have not yet formed an inclusive education atmosphere of active acceptance.Finally,this study put forward suggestions from three aspects which were the presentation form of the media,the guidance of public opinions on policies,and the public’s media literacy. |
