The incidence of children’s psychological problems in China is increasing year by year, which is related to the future of the Chinese nation. At the same time, the child psychological problems derived from the family of origin are becoming more and more concerned by researchers and social workers.China issued the Family Education Promotion Law of the People’s Republic of China in 2021,which not only makes the sociality and publicality of family education more prominent, but also puts forward professional guidance and suggestions for promoting children’s mental health and the development of social work. The group of children is heterogeneous, and the psychological problems of school-age children are complex and special,so it is necessary to clarify the influencing factors of the psychological problems of school-age children.By reviewing domestic and foreign literatures,it is found that few studies have analyzed the mediating effect of school-age children’s mental health problems from the perspective of parents. Therefore, based on the ecosystem theory, this study selected the SCL-90 Mental Health Clinical Symptom Scale, the Parent-Child Relationship Self-Rating Scale and the Children’s Loneliness Scale as survey tools.A total of 3058 school-age children and 2578 parents were investigated.Large sample data analyzes how parents influence school-age children’s mental health.Specifically,SPSS was used for descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, linear regression analysis and mediation effect analysis.Through empirical analysis,it is found that:(1)there are significant differences in the mental health of school-age children in terms of age and grade, but no difference in gender;(2)the mental health of parents has a significant impact on the mental health of school-age children;(3)the results of Bootstrap analysis show that the quality of parent-child relationship and children’s loneliness together play a chain mediating role between parents’ mental health status and school-age children’s mental health status.Based on the conclusion that parental mental health can significantly affect the mental health of school-age children, this study combines domestic and foreign social work practices and related literature research to construct corresponding social work intervention strategies: At the social level,it is necessary to focus on cultivating high-quality professional societies.Social workers need to actively link social resources, optimize and expand community public spaces, and establish and improve social work service systems to improve the ability of government and society to cooperate;at the school level, social workers regularly carry out campus group counseling activities, and pay attention to the school-age period with a high sense of loneliness Children;at the family level, social workers should focus on improving the mental health of parents, improving the quality of parent-child relationships, and innovating the content and methods of family education. To sum up,the research is conducive to further understanding the generation process of school-age children’s psychological problems from the perspective of the family environment, promoting the professional development of social work, and providing practical solutions for effectively solving school-age children’s mental health problems.
