In modern society,the increase of relatively disadvantaged groups and people’s high demand for welfare have caused extreme polarization,resulting in an increasing proportion of social services needed.Therefore,in providing social services,the responsibility and role of social workers have become more and more important and urgent.It is well known that the value of social workers is altruism,and their task is to help the service objects in need.But if the people who help others have mental health problems and leave one after another,who will provide services in the future?Research has shown that mental health problems among social workers can have a challenging impact on individuals,thereby reducing their productivity and having a disruptive impact on their ability to deliver effective services.At the same time,we know that the state is preparing to build this team,and it will be a serious challenge to the construction of this team if the employees of this team have serious mental health problems that are not paid attention to and dealt with,such as leaving due to excessive stress and job burnout,Attention to mental health issues among social workers responsible for providing social services is important not only for their individual well-being,but also for effective management of welfare staff resources to improve service quality.However,through literature review,we know that the current domestic research on the mental health of social workers is not much,and social workers are also a professional group that needs to be paid attention to.Therefore,the research believes that it is imperative to improve the mental health quality of social workers.So how can the mental health of social workers be improved?It was found that meaning in work and job satisfaction may be an effective way to alleviate the mental health of social workers.However,previous studies were either partially hypothesis to support,or lack of local Chinese social workers.Based on this,the purpose of this study is to verify the impact of meaning in work on the mental health of social workers and the moderating role of job satisfaction in it,hoping to put forward practical suggestions to promote the self-care and growth of social workers.Data samples of 327 social workers from Sichuan,Chongqing,and Guizhou were included in this study.SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 22.0 software were used to conduct common method bias test,descriptive analysis,difference analysis,correlation analysis,hierarchical regression analysis,and simple slope analysis to verify the six research hypotheses proposed in this paper.The results show that the basic characteristics of social work workers are younger age,shorter working time and lower salary.Secondly,relatively,social workers with shorter working years and personal monthly income of 2000 yuan or less feel lower sense of meaning in work,show more obvious symptoms of depression,anxiety,and stress,and experience lower job satisfaction.Then the study confirmed that sense of meaning in work has a significant negative effect on mental health of social workers.Job satisfaction has a moderating effect between meaning at work and mental health of social workers,and when job satisfaction is at a high level,the inhibitory effect of meaning at work on depression,anxiety and stress of social workers is more obvious.Based on this,we put forward suggestions for the mental health of social workers from four perspectives.First,suggestions for social workers: to promote positive emotions and professional competence of individuals;Proactively building a social support network;Release your negative energy through exercise or other hobbies.Secondly,suggestions for social work organizations: create a good leadership and organizational culture;In the arrangement of working hours and work tasks,try to be flexible and fair,and establish good peer support,and pay attention to the balance between work needs and work resources;Implement counseling or training programs to promote personal development,and create special positions for mental health counseling.Then the suggestions for the government management department: solve the statistical information of mental health assessment data,and dynamically monitor the mental health level of employees;Introduce legally binding laws and regulations,which can also be incorporated into relevant industry policies;Setting a reasonable wage standard and social security withdrawal ratio;Set up a corresponding online time bank.Finally,the suggestions for social work education are as follows: vigorously promote education,reserve talents for social work,enhance specialization and professionalism,and develop deep and high-quality social workers while pursuing the number of social workers;Carry out more professional courses of self-care and self-counseling;Teach students to dialectic-ally view the occupation of social work;Schools should take more reasonable and comprehensive considerations when recommending internship institutions.
