Learning motivation is not only the premise of the formation of students’ core literacy,but also the key factor to improve the teaching effect.The stimulation of learning motivation needs scientific methods and strategies,but also the assistance and support of teaching media and cognitive tools.With the development of smart education,app based mobile learning plays an important role in the teaching process,and arcs motivation model is a relatively perfect theoretical theory to stimulate learning motivation in the process of teaching design.This study combines the four elements of ARCS motivation model(attention,relevance,self-confidence and satisfaction)to design motivation strategies,combines the functional design of mobile app with the design mode of ARCS motivation,then select relevant strategies suitable for learners,teachers and teaching situations,and organically integrate these strategies into various teaching links in combination with teaching design to form an implementation scheme to stimulate motivation.This thesis studies the application of ARCS motivation model to the design of middle school history teaching app.Arounding the teaching process of middle school history course,aiming at stimulating students’ learning motivation,using advanced information technology,combining relevant learning theory with teaching theory,this thesis plans the design principle and system architecture of app,and carries out interface design,function design and teaching design,and expounds the implementation scheme of app,innovatively designing the app functional modules such as knowledge breakthrough,historical scene and role play,integrating the four basic elements of ARCS motivation model into the functional design of app,so as to form the method and strategy of stimulating motivation.With the support of teaching app,we will carry out the design of hybrid teaching system of "paying equal attention to learning and teaching",and pay attention to the combination of students’ main role with teachers’ leading role in the teaching process,so as to improve the effect of history teaching in middle school.This thesis mainly uses the research methods of literature research,questionnaire survey,interview and experimental research to analyze and investigate the relevant contents involved in this thesis,and studies the theoretical basis of ARCS motivation theory and teaching design.Through the mixed teaching experiment of middle school history curriculum based on ARCS motivation model,this thesis makes an experimental study on the teaching effect and function design feasibility of history teaching app applied to curriculum teaching.The experimental results show that the teaching effect of the hybrid teaching mode supported by app based on ARCS motivation model is significantly better than that of the traditional mode,and plays a good role in promoting the deep integration of information technology into classroom teaching.
