Under the background of the post-epidemic era,students are exposed to electronic products prematurely and face relatively more social inducements;today's educational environment makes students' learning more purposeful;the subject of mathematics has a certain abstraction,and the mathematical concepts and theorems learned in junior high school are all indirect experiences.Considering a variety of factors,what is the current level of junior high school students' learning motivation? What are the ways to improve and maintain student motivation?The ARCS motivational design model proposed by Professor Keller is the most influential in improving motivation.He mainly expounds four factors that affect students' learning motivation: A(attention),R(relevance),C(confidence),S(satisfy).Based on this model,this study conducts an empirical study on improving students' motivation level.Specifically,select the ninth grade students as the research objects,investigate their existing motivation level,compile a teaching strategy table according to multiple factors,design a teaching plan and implement it,verify whether the motivation model has an impact on students' motivation and achievement level,and finally put forward teaching suggestions to improve students' learning motivation.Experimental results show:(1)At present,the level of mathematics learning motivation of junior high school students is low,and the development is uneven at all levels.From the survey data,the average value of students in the four dimensions is relatively low,especially the development of the R(relevance)level is too slow,and the development of the A(attention)level is better.(2)The mathematics teaching plan designed according to the mathematics teaching strategy of ARCS motivation model can improve the motivation level of students.After the implementation of the teaching strategy,the scoring rate of the motivation levels of the two classes was analyzed,and it was found that the average value of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class,and the difference between the two classes was large.At the same time,the score at the R(relevance)level has been improved.(3)The mathematics teaching plan designed according to the mathematics teaching strategy of ARCS motivation model can improve students' mathematics academic performance.By comparing the mathematics scores of the students in the two classes,the scores of the two classes that were roughly at the same level before the experiment,the scores of the experimental class have improved significantly after the experiment,while the scores of the control class have no significant difference.(4)Mathematics teaching strategies based on ARCS motivation model can optimize the design of mathematics teaching in junior high schools.Expanding teaching ideas and creating effective mathematics classrooms are in line with the ultimate goal of mathematics education.According to the results of the research,the following teaching suggestions are put forward according to the current situation of students:(1)Create a variety of teaching situations to stimulate students' cognitive interest.(2)Set corresponding learning goals according to students' learning level.(3)Develop students' correct attribution and increase learning expectations.(4)Appropriate use of rewards and emphasis on emotional teaching.
