Research On The Construction Of Mutual Aid Network For The Elderly Living Alone In Rural Areas From The Perspective Of Social Support Network

With the acceleration of economic and social transformation since the new era,China’s population structure has gradually changed,and the degree of aging is high,The outflow of a large number of young and middle-aged labor force makes it common for the elderly in rural families to live in empty nests and live alone.In contrast,the elderly living alone in rural areas have two weak factors of "rural" and "living alone",and their ability to deal with risks and develop themselves is seriously insufficient,which is the focus of our pension service work at present.The research on the elderly living alone in China mostly focuses on the urban elderly group and the physical and mental health,quality of life and elderly care service needs of the elderly.The attention to the mutual aid network of the elderly living alone in rural areas is low,and the research results are relatively few.Under the current policy background of rural community construction,the construction of rural mutual aid and happiness homes for the elderly has been carried out in many places,which provides a powerful platform for the development of social work.Starting from the theoretical perspective of social support network,this study takes the elderly living alone in X village,Jinchang City,Gansu Province as the research object,collects relevant data by questionnaire,interview and field observation,and analyzes the current situation and needs of the social support network of the elderly living alone in this village.Taking informal social support as the starting point and adopting the practical method of group work,we are committed to exploring the positive role of group work in helping the rural elderly living alone to build a mutual aid network.This study established the "neighborhood watch · harmony and mutual assistance-mutual assistance support group for the elderly living alone",and the group designed six activities.In the early stage of the activity,the main goal of the group is to sign the group contract,promote mutual understanding and familiarity among the group members,and help the group members adapt quickly;In the middle of the activity,social workers guide the team members to cooperate with each other,explore the potential of the team members,and urge the team members to take the initiative to build a mutual assistance support network;In the later stage of the activity,the main goal of the group is to consolidate the effect of the activity,strengthen the emotional support among team members,and build a mutual assistance support network among team members.Review all previous activities and properly deal with the parting emotions of team members,evaluate the content and effectiveness of each group activity,and analyze the group activities with process evaluation and result evaluation to clarify the effect of group work intervention.Finally,it reflects on the effect of social workers’ activities,and puts forward targeted suggestions.
