Bridge is a kind of intellectual sport,which helps to cultivate the ability of logical analysis and the spirit of team cooperation.It involves the knowledge of probability,logic,psychology and so on,very much in line with the spirit of contemporary sports.College Bridge Tournament was established in 2004,held once a year,until 2016 in Guangzhou and Shenzhen before the first team to participate in the National College Bridge Tournament.Although college students in Guangzhou-shenzhen area start late,but in recent years there is a rapid development trend,and frequently in the National College Competition won the first place.In this study,the bridge players in Guangzhou and Shenzhen were interviewed to understand the current situation of the development of bridge,and then the online questionnaires were distributed to college students in Guangzhou and Shenzhen,200 valid samples of bridge learning motivation were obtained.Based on the mathematical statistics of the samples and the relevant literature,the paper makes a multi-dimensional summary and analysis in order to understand the reasons why college students are learning bridge at present,to seek for teachers to guide students to learn bridge in a positive and healthy state of mind,so that bridge sports can maintain a long-term vitality in colleges and universities.The conclusions of this study are as follows:1.At present,the college students’ cognition of bridge is very low,less than 10%of the students have come into contact with bridge before choosing courses.2.Among all the sources of motivation,the main reasons that affect college students to participate in bridge learning are: Bridge Course is relatively simple,easy to get credit,and more students are not out of their own interests.3.Boys were more motivated than girls to study bridge,showed greater interest in bridge,were more involved and were more willing to continue to study bridge.4.External motivation plays a key role in the learning process of bridge elective course,and the influencing factors are higher than internal motivation.5.The main reasons that affect students’ motivation to study bridge are lack of fixed partners and lack of expert guidance.
