Research On The Renovation And Reuse Of Old Industrial Buildings In Southern Jiangsu

Rural industrial buildings are the material carriers of rural industries.With the rapid development of society,a large number of rural industrial buildings have lost their original functions.To a certain extent,these old industrial buildings represent the cultural memory of a specific era or a specific area.Renovating and reusing them can not only save costs,create a certain economic value,but also activate their internal cultural value and continue the nostalgic memory.This study takes the southern Jiangsu area as an entry point.Southern Jiangsu is one of the fastest growing regions in the country.Since ancient times,it has been a land of fish and rice,with developed traditional agriculture and handicrafts.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the township industry represented by the "Southern Jiangsu Model" was the representative of China’s rural industry.Therefore,the southern Jiangsu area has a certain representation in rural industrial architecture.In-depth research on it will not only benefit the reuse of old rural industrial buildings in southern Jiangsu,but also provide a high reference value for other regions of the country.The thesis is divided into five parts.The first chapter is the theoretical basis of the study,and the research scope of the article,the research status and research methods at home and abroad are described.The second chapter sorts out the evolution of rural industrial architecture in southern Jiangsu,and summarizes its characteristics and changes from the four stages of traditional agriculture period,modern period,social team industry period,and reform and opening up.Chapter three analyzes the characteristics and types of existing rural old industrial buildings through field investigations,and summarizes their intrinsic value and existing problems.The fourth chapter of the design strategy part proposes a system transformation strategy from four aspects: type orientation,environmental coordination,suitable technology,and ecological sustainability.The fifth chapter will elaborate on the specific application of the old rural industrial building reuse strategy in conjunction with the reconstruction project of the She village in Nanjing where the author participated in the graduate stage.
