Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of modified Zengye Chengqi Decoction in the treatment of type 2 diabetes with Yin deficiency and dry heat syndrome,so as to provide a theoretical basis and a new feasible method for the treatment of type 2 diabetes with traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:60 patients were randomly divided into two groups:1.Treatment group;2.Control group. The treatment group received modified Zengye Chengqi Decoction, metformin hydrochloride tablets and basic treatment;the control group received metformin hydrochloride tablets and basic treatment. The total course of treatment was 4 weeks. After the course of treatment, statistical methods were used to analyze the changes of FBG,2hpbg,GSP,blood lipid, fasting serum insulin,TCM single symptom score and TCM syndrome efficacy score before and after treatment in the two groups.Results:①Blood glucose and GSP:comparison between the two groups before and after treatment:FBG,2hpbg,GSP levels of the two groups after treatment were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.01),the difference was statistically significant. After treatment, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).②Blood lipid:comparison before and after treatment:the levels of TC,TG,HDL-C and LDL-C in the two groups were significantly decreased after treatment(P<0.01).Comparison between the two groups after treatment:the precipitation under tc,TG,HDL-C and LDL-C in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the difference was statistically significant.③Fasting serum insulin:comparison between the two groups before and after treatment:the fasting serum insulin level of the two groups before and after treatment had no significant change(P>0.05),the difference was not statistically significant.④TCM single symptom score:comparison between the two groups before and after treatment:the TCM symptoms of the treatment group were significantly improved after treatment, which was statistically significant(P<0.01).While the control group could only improve some TCM symptoms(dry throat and mouth, five heart trouble and heat, thirsty like drinking, hot flashes and night sweats),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),the other TCM symptoms(emaciation, red constipation, bitter mouth, tinnitus, waist and knee, palpitation and insomnia)had no significant change(P>0.05).Comparison between the two groups after treatment:the remission degree of TCM single symptom in the treatment group was greater than that in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).⑤TCM syndrome score:two groups of patients were compared:after treatment,TCM syndrome score in two groups were significantly decreased, with significant statistical significance(P<0.01).Comparison between the two groups:the decrease of TCM syndrome score in the treatment group was significantly greater than that in the control group, which was statistically significant(P<0.01).No obvious gastrointestinal or other adverse reactions occurred during the whole clinical study. Conclusion:Modified Zengye Chengqi Decoction can effectively reduce the levels of FBG,2hpbg,GSP and blood lipid in type 2 diabetes patients with Yin deficiency and dry heat syndrome, and significantly improve the clinical symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, but has no obvious effect on fasting serum insulin. There was no significant effect on liver and kidney function,no gastrointestinal or other adverse reactions during the treatment, and the safety was good.
