Research On Academic Thoughts Of Cao Yingfu On The Differentiation And Treatment Of Lung Diseases

Yingfu Cao was a master of classical medicine at the end of Qing dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China.Its application of classical prescriptions,especially in the diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases is very representative.This study is based on a comprehensive literature review,by reading,collecting and collating Cao Yingfu's medical works,Cao Yingfu's medical works,including Shang Han Fa Wei,Jin Kui Fa Wei,and his disciple Jiang Zuojing,Wang Shenxuan's Jing Fang experiment record and Cao Yingfu's medical case,etc.referring to the literature related to Cao Yingfu(including the periodicals and newspapers in Cao Yingfu's time),this paper summarizes Cao Yingfu's experience and characteristics in treating lung diseases with classical prescriptions,and refines his academic thoughts,it will open up a new way for the treatment of lung diseases by classical prescriptions and make them better used in clinic.This study is divided into four parts: the first part is to explore Cao Yingfu's academic origin from Cao Yingfu's life and main works;the second part is the study of Cao Yingfu's theory of diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases,in this part,the diagnosis and treatment theories of Cao Yingfu on cough,asthma,flaccidity of the lung and Phthisis are summarized from his understanding of the causes and pathogenesis of lung diseases,the methods of treatment and the application of prescriptions and medicines,for example,Cao attributed the main causes of cough and asthma to Phlegm,wind and water,and paid attention to dispersing heat in the treatment of cough and asthma.The cause of lung carbuncle is attributed to the sun disease losing time and dying,wind-heat entrapped,heat choked blood and rot,and it is further expounded that the cause of lung carbuncle is heat,the actual Yang is bright,the pathogenesis is lung-heat fumigation and burning,the abscess is accumulating in the lung,and the treatment of lung carbuncle is to clear away the heat from the lung throughout,in legislation,attention was paid to removing obstruction,clearing heat from the lungs,breaking up stubborn phlegm and supporting the Yin of the lungs,on the basis of Qianjin Weijing decoction,Jugen decoction,Jugen Baisan,Tingli Dazao Xiefei decoction,Red Bean Danggui Powder,Xianghuang Xingxiao pill and Qianjin Huanghtang were also included.In addition,the “Foot bone pain”,“Sublingual swelling”mentioned by Cao for the early diagnosis of lung carbuncle is of great significance.In the discussion of pulmonary flaccidity,Cao inherited the theory of cold and heat at both ends.In the treatment of pulmonary heat-induced flaccidity,on the basis of Maimendong decoction,he supplemented the application of raw land,jade bamboo and Anemarrhena in the flaccidity caused by body-fluid injury,and the treatment of yang-ming-dryness with both evidence and evidence,cao's stress that dry ginger should be as much as licorice in the treatment of atrophic debility due to lung cold.In the pathogenesis of phthisis,Cao still based his theory on “Deficiency of labour”,emphasizing “Cultivating local soil to produce gold”in treatment,and taking “Xiaojianzhong decoction”as the cube.The third part discusses the application of Cao Yingfu's classical prescriptions related to lung diseases,mainly sorting out and studying Cao's commonly used prescriptions for treating lung diseases,and discussing them from the aspects of Zhong Jingyuan's prescriptions and Cao's application of mind and method,in the application of classical prescriptions in the treatment of lung diseases,cao mainly Mahuang soup,guizhi soup,small qinglong soup,Maxing Shigan soup,Shegan Mahuang soup,hopu mahuang soup,zaowan,shizao soup,Tingli Dazao Xiefeng soup,dachengqi soup and so on in and out.And put forward some representative point of view,such as “Guizhi soup is better than summer”,Maxing Shigan Soup for the future ancestors of warm disease.From the application of Hopu Mahuang decoction and Shegan Mahuang decoction,we can see that Cao's prescription is bold and careful.In addition,Cao's use of dachengqi soup is more subtle.Through the above research,we find that Cao developed and innovated in his inheritance,deepening and expanding his thought of treating lung diseases.Cao Yingfu's treatment of lung diseases was developed and applied on the basis of the thoughts of treatise on Febrile Diseases and Jinkui Yaolue.He retained the principle of Zhong Jing's prescription greatly for the inheritance of classical prescriptions,and he was always able to prove it according to evidence,combined with the new knowledge,he advocated to make the scriptures more vivid by combining the anatomical knowledge of western medicine in the interpretation of the scriptures In the treatment of lung diseases,time prescription,time medicine and folk prescription are compatible.Cao Yingfu's prescription is simple,the use of drugs is flexible and the curative effect is remarkable.His choice of prescriptions for lung diseases,his grasp of the dosage of drugs,and his application of severe drugs are all worthy of exploration and deep study.Cao Yingfu's academic thought of clinical differentiation and treatment of lung diseases,it is of great significance to guide the treatment of pulmonary diseases.
