The twentieth century is an era of fierce collision between Chinese and Western cultures.The Western art language develops vigorously in this time,has obtained the big breakthrough in the art form,has the strong impact to the Chinese painting.Times create heroes.Guan Zilan was the pioneer of early modernist oil painting in China and one of the most innovative female painters in the history of Chinese painting.As the first Chinese female painter studying in Japan,she not only introduced western modernist art to China,but also tried to connect the western-centered observing method in western art with the artistic spirit of descriptive imagination in China,thereby creating a way to express both the characteristics and expressions of western art as well as the spiritual culture and emotion of traditional Chinese nationalization.The paintings created by Guan Zilan not only show the transcendence of the model of nationalization infiltrating Chinese in Western art,but also find the delicacy of the integration of Chinese and Western art.In this sense,Guan Zilan has become the connection point between Chinese and Western painting art,forming a painting language with her unique characteristics.Based on the development and background of nationalization in oil paintings of the Republic of China,this paper explores and combs the nationalization in Guan Zilan's paintings,through sociology and iconology to find the causes and characteristics of nationalization in his paintings,and sum up the national spirit and artistic value in Guan Zilan's paintings.This article is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction.The second chapter begins with the background of the nationalization of oil painting in the Republic of China,and expounds the development of nationalization in oil paintings during the period of the Republic of China.It is also analyzed that the spread of Western painting in China during the period has an influence on the development of Chinese society and culture.As well as the analysis of Chinese students studying abroad will be Western painting art and Chinese traditional painting integration,efforts to promote the integration of the road.Chapter three explores the reason for the formation of nationalization in Guan ZIlan's paintings which is mainly demonstrated from two aspect.Fist one is about the current situation of the society.There was a large-scale impact of western artistic thoughts on Chinese society and culture during the Republic of China,as a node at the intersection of old and new cultures in the Republic of China.In the context of Social Change,oil painting,as the main culture of the West,has a far-reaching impact on Chinese painting art;and the three benefactors of Guan Zilan studied and created,Chen Baoyi,Hong Ye,and Ding Yanyong,have an impact on her painting art.Second,cultural arts are analyzed based on the regional environment in which Guan Zilan.So Guan Zilan's painting is influenced by Hai Pai's art.The art development of "Chinese-Western Fusion" is slowly developing,and the field of oil painting is gradually taking root in China as a result of the innovation in Chinese traditional painting for the adaptation of the social reform.Chapter 4 is the core part of this thesis.It mainly uses the image analysis method to discuss the characteristics of nationalization in Guan Zilan's paintings,mainly including in two parts:First,the integration of traditional culture.Guan Zilan mainly integrates the symbolism,freehand lines,and poetic conception in traditional Chinese painting into painting creation,and adds many Chinese folk expressions,and the theme of landscape painting with the tendency of nationalization reflects Guan Zilan's attachment to the growth environment.Second,realistic style.After returning from studying abroad,Guan Zilan focused on embodying Chinese elements in artistic creation,and reflected nationalization from different perspectives of painting,abandoning the original brutalism's exaggerated performance techniques,and turn to the expression of social style and the realism of the great mother land from the previous pretty bourgeois life theme.In Chapter 5,the enlightenment of Guan Zilan's nationalization artistic spirit.She never gives up her pursuit of the "national character" spirit of painting,and constantly innovates and develops Chinese painting art,the national character in her paintings gives the innovative guidance to Chinese painting and brings profound inspiration to the progress of contemporary art.
