| "History of civilization in central Asia" is a book compiled by UNESCO,which brings together the achievements of central Asian scholars from all over the world. It plays an important role in the research field of Central Asia. The book consists of six volumes and has been published for 13 years. It covers central Asia’s civilizations from prehistoric times until the collapse of the Soviet union. There is not much research on this work in China. This paper intends to select "History of civilization in central Asia:v.I" as the main research object, and through the introduction of its writing background and writing groups, and combing its content,to discuss how the book was written and constructed on the prehistoric civilization in central Asia, and to make an objective evaluation of the work. This paper is mainly composed of three parts:introduction, text and conclusion. Each chapter will now be summarized as follows:The first part is the introduction, which mainly explains the reason and significance of the topic selection,as well as the literature review related to the research issues of this paper. The first chapter examines three aspects. The first is the historical background of the compilation of "History of civilization in central Asia:v.I".The transformation from a single civilization to a pluralistic one,the cultural initiatives of UNESCO,and the growing archaeology of central Asia all contributed to the compilation of this work. The second is focus on the process of writing the book; The third is a brief analysis of authors of the book, which has the following characteristics:a wide geographical distribution, from 10 different countries and regions in the world; With a solid professional background, all the 23 scholars have experienced professional discipline training and are all outstanding scholars in the fields of archaeology and linguistics of central Asia studies.Through these analyses,a macroscopic understanding of the book is formed. The second chapter mainly analyzes the time and space construction of the prehistoric civilization of central Asia in "History of civilization in central Asia:v.I".In this part, the time division of the development stage of the prehistoric civilization in central Asia and the spatial characteristics of the prehistoric civilization in central Asia are introduced.Based on the time line from the Stone Age to the early iron age,the author sorts out the prehistoric civilization of central Asia in the broad space of central Asia, and constructs a multi-civilization region based on the complex human geography. It sets the prehistorie civilization of central Asia in the background of the historical space and time formed by the vast, changing and open channels, and shapes the prehistoric central Asia into a civilized historical space composed of various "communication networks".The third chapter mainly analyzes the origin and development of the prehistoric civilization of central Asia in"History of civilization in central Asia:v.I".In this book, there are two main clues to the origin and development of the prehistoric civilization in central Asia.First, the natural environment is the external driving force for the origin and development of civilization.Second, unnatural factors such as people’s subjective initiative and civilized communication among people are the internal driving forces for the development of prehistoric civilization in Central Asia.Under the joint action of the two,the prehistoric civilization in Central Asia was able to achieve prosperity and development. The fourth chapter makes a comparative analysis and evaluation of this book.Firstly,it analyzes two books,"Central Asia:Turkmenia before the Achemenids" and"Archaeology in Soviet Central Asia",which are about the same time as "History of civilization in central Asia:v.l",and they are also works on the prehistoric civilization of central Asia.By comparison,it is found that the prehistoric civilization of central Asia constructed in the first two works is relatively static and closed, while in "History of civilization in central Asia:v.I" is dynamic and open. Then, based on the previous discussion, the author evaluates "History of civilization in central Asia:v.l" and points out that the book is constructed from the perspective of regional history. It is also pointed out that "History of civilization in central Asia:v.I"has the following three shortcomings:the material is old,the composition of the writers is biased and the regional writing is unbalanced. The last part is the conclusion, which gives a general evaluation of the writing construction of central Asian prehistoric civilization in "History of civilization in central Asia:v.I".It is pointed out that this book constructs an open and dynamic space of the prehistoric central Asian civilization, and places the prehistoric central Asia in Eurasia, presenting a unique but not independent picture of the prehistoric central Asian civilization. On the one hand, this construction established the autonomy of the prehistoric civilization of central Asia and rediscovered its importance. At the same time,it breaks the original one-line historical narrative of the central Asian civilization and reconstructs the picture of the regional interaction of the central Asian prehistoric civilization.Although the book has some shortcomings due to the limitation of time,it is still of great significance for the understanding and study of prehistoric central Asia. |
