Ideology has an interaction with translation. This report used Xinjiang andChina’s Rise in Central Asia-A History as an example, analyzed and discussed howideology affected translation activities through its context and social background,translation motive、choice of text and how to dispose the problems of language andconcept in the process of translation, and also the influences to target languagereaders.This report mainly described the relationship between Xinjiang and China, andthe history、economy and development of Xinjiang. But due to the book was writtenfrom western perspective, the words were comparatively straightforward, the veracityof context remained questionable. Therefore the work might face some difficulties, sobesides to finish the task; I still need to analyze the translation problem with theinfluence of ideology in the process of translation.The book was divided into three parts; my part was chapter one to three. Themain content of my part is Xinjiang’s history and the China’s attitude to Xinjiang.Because of it is a book on politics with obscure words and long difficult sentence, Ispent a lot of time on looking up background information to make sentences logic.To finish this work, translator who must has translation skills and all-sidedknowledge about political economy and cultural field; with all these preparation thatone can has a high-quality translation of political article.
