Objectives: 1) To translate The Tendency to Expect Rejection Scale, and assess the credibility and validity of the TERS in the collective culture of China. 2)To explore the effects of the social rejection sensitivity on the individual psychology, to measure the current status of rejection sensitivity among the students, and to look for the relationship between the rejection sensitivity and the social anxiety, loneliness, social support, self-esteem and personality traits. 3) To examine the relationship between the rejection sensitivity and the reactions to hypothetical scenarios of exclusion.Methods: To collect the sample data in the help of questionnaire-investigation, and adopt the SPSS11.5 for the T-test, ANOVA, the correlation analysis on the base of sample data.Results: 1)According to the examination of the sample data in China, the rejection sensitivity scale has good credibility and validity. 2) In the current analysis of the rejection sensitivity, only the gender difference is found, the female rejection sensitivity is significantly higher than male's. 3) As expected the rejection sensitivity is positively related to the social anxiety, loneliness, and inversely related to the perceived social support. 4) The rejection sensitivity is positively related to self-esteem, the high level of rejection sensitivity means a high self-esteem, the low self-esteem means the low level of rejection sensitivity. 5)The rejection sensitivity is inversely related to the extroversion in the EPQ, and positively related to the psychoticism, especially the neuroticism. 6) The rejection sensitivity is positively related to the ratings of the severity of each hypothetical scenarios, and it has a better prediction to the rejection situation than the Social Anxiety Scale and the UCL-Loneliness Scale.
