Explain "Jiangwai", "Jiangzuo" And "Jiangxi"

Jiangwai,jiangzuo,Jiangxi are some district names frequently appeared and changed in different regimes from WeiJin Northern and Southern Dynasties.This paper is going to adopt textual research on the respective appearing time of Jiangdong,Jiangwai,Jiangzuo,Jiangxi,and combining the temporal political,military,cultural and social background of each district name,make certain discussions on the connections among the four district names and their reference districts.Jiangwai firstly was the substitute for Jiangdong in the beginning of the Three Kingdom and it was referred to the Sun-wu regime in the south of Yangtze River.As a matter of fact,the definitions of Jiangwai were different in the different perspectives of Cao-wei and Sun-wu regimes.From the perspective of Caowei regime,Jiangwai actually was the stigmatization of sun-wu regime,whose territory is not in the central China.While for Sun-wu regime,as the powerful community in the south of Yangtze River,they had strong cultural confidence and regarded Jiangwai as the independent regime in the south Yangtze River.This had resolved the stigmatization of Sun-wu regime by Cao-wei regime and changed the inferior position that Sun-wu regime was situated in the district of Jiangwai.Meanwhile,the cohesive force,centripetal force and confidence of the powerful community in the south Yangtze river were strengthened further.At the time of turn of West Jin Dynasty and East jin Dynasty,"zuo" was regarded as the legitimacy and the word "jiangzuo" was created and soon took the place of jiangwai.The creation of jiangzuo,as a matter of fact,is the result of downgrade by the political and cultural circle in the south of Yangtze River,where there were steady political and military environment,prosperous economy and advanced culture,on the backward region such as Jiangxi(region of Huai river and Si river),Jingxiang,Jiangzhou,on account of frequent wars,backward economy and culture.At the same time,it is because of the necessity by Mr Sima to resolve the negative factor in terms of the district and compete with families of power,on the way to be the emperor.While Jiangzuo was gradually built as the center area of the regime,Jiangxi had started its downsizing,precision and stigmatization.When it came to the Liu-song period of Nan Dynasty,the center area of Jiangzuo had been recognized broadly and the district of Jiangxi also had completed its stigmatization.However,Jiangxi,in fact,belonged to the part of marginal area of ancient China,the word Jiangxi was just short-lived and soon had been replaced by the stigmatized word "jiangwai",which was the representative of the whole marginal area.With the passage of time,the word Jiangwai had been used to stand for the marginal area of Nan Dynasty,the direction of Jiangwai was also changed,it referred to the north of Yangtze River instead of the south of Yangtze River in the period of Three-kingdom.Thus,it is clear to be seen that it is not the coincidence for the frequent change of district names in the south regimes of Weijin Dynasty,but they are all based on the political and cultural background.And all these changes are the reflections of political change and game-playing between different political and cultural community.
