With the rapid development of information technology,mobile media,digital TV and other new media forms are constantly updated,making the society is experiencing a media ecological revolution.Media multitasking behavior is one of the products of this ecological revolution,which has gradually become a habitual behavior model for teenagers.Related studies found that media multitasking significantly affected the physical health,mental health and well-being of adolescents.Social well-being is a new perspective to study well-being,and it is also defined as one of the symbols of individual mental health by the World Health Organization.However,no research has previously has explored the relationship between media multitasking and social well-being,its internal mechanism and influencing factors.As the main place for students to study and live,school has an impact on students' cognition and emotion.The differences between students' personality traits also affect their cognitive and emotional changes.Based on existing relevant research,this study takes college students as the research object,and through a questionnaire survey of 642 college students,discusses the influence of college students' media multitasking behavior on social well-being,and tests the mediating role of sense of school community in it and the moderating role of self-control.The results are as follows:(1)In this survey,he average media multitasking index(MMI)of college students is 3.4,which means that college students carry out 3.4 media activities on average at the same time.Among these media activities of MMI,the three highest are face-to-face communication,instant messaging and social networking.The three lowest are playing video games or online games,making telephone call or video chat and watching TV,movies,online or offline video.(2)In terms of demographic variables,In terms of demographic variables,the average media multitasking index of male college students is significantly lower than that of female college students;the sense of school community of students leader is significantly higher than that of non students leader;the social well-being of non only children is significantly higher than that of only children;the self-control of college students from two parent families is sign-ificantly higher than that of single parent families.The self-control of students leader is significantly higher than that of non students leader.(3)The media multitasking of college students has a significant negative predictive effect on social well-being and a significant negative predictive effect on sense of school community.The sense of school community has a significant positive predictive effect on social well-being.The sense of school community plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between media multitasking and social well-being.(4)Self-control plays a moderating role in the relationship between sense of school community and social well-being.Among the five dimensions of self-control,health habits and focus on work / learning play a moderating role in the first half and the second half of the mediating model of media multitasking,sense of school community and social well-beingThe implications of the study are discussed.
