An Inquiry Into Badiou's Communist Thought

A French philosopher,Alain Badiou,has come up with his own version of communism as a solution to a contemporary era when capitalism is booming and socialism is in a slump.This paper elaborates and studies Badiou's communist thought from four aspects.First,it explains the theoretical source of Badiou's communist thought from Marx,Sartre,Althusser and Cantor respectively.Secondly,Badiou's communist thought is discussed in detail,starting from its constituent elements and contents,so as to have a more comprehensive understanding of Badiou's communist thought.The third part discusses the uniqueness of Badiou's communist thought.Badiou's communism has its special features.The author interprets it from three kinds of Marxist and three kinds of political sequences.The last part discusses the limitation of Badiou's communist thought,and points out its shortcomings such as unreality,contingency and subject fracture with a critical eye.
