Gyorgy Markus is the main member of Budapest School and one of the representatives of Neo Marxism in Eastern Europe.In the late 20 th century,He focused on the critical theory of cultural modernity,and because of his unique thought,he integrated into the theoretical trend of Western modernity criticism.In fact,from his youth,He decided to start from Marx's concept of "the essence of man" to carry out the research of Marxist anthropology,and continue this theme to his later years.This paper focuses on the famous work Marxism and Anthropology of Markus Budapest School in its early stage,and makes a deep discussion on Markus' s anthropological thought.In Markus' s anthropological thought,the core issue is always around Marx's concept of "the essence of man".Through the in-depth study of the essence of man,he believes that the basic the essence of man mainly includes labor,sociality and consciousness.At the same time,from the perspective of philosophical anthropology,Markus thinks that the investigation the essence of man must correctly treat its historicity.The unique interpretation from this perspective enriches Marx's research results on the essence of man to a certain extent.Influenced by his teacher Lukacs,in the process of studying anthropological thoughts,Markus also attaches importance to the role of consciousness in human nature,and extends his vision to the cultural level.Through the definition and analysis of the concept of culture,Markus believes that anthropological culture should also be an important part of anthropology.Therefore,he integrated the connotation of human nature with anthropological culture,opened up a unique philosophical anthropological thought,and extended it to a certain extent on the basis of inheriting Marx's humanitarian thought,making it unique in the new Marxist theory of Eastern Europe.
