A Study Of The Mansion Space Narrative In "Jin Ping Mei Ci Hua"

Marxist philosophy holds that space and time are two basic forms of movement.Space plays an important narrative role in the novel,which is of great significance to the characters,plot structure and theme.Jin Ping Mei CI Hua is a full-length chapter novel during the reign of Jiajing and Wanli in Ming Dynasty,and it is also the pioneering work of ancient world novels.It takes Xi Menqing family as the core,radiates Qinghe County and even the whole late Ming society,and deeply exposes the social greed in the middle and late Ming Dynasty.Taking Xi Menqing residence as the center,this paper explores the spatial function,spatial implication and narrative techniques of the residence in Jinpingmei Cihua,so as to deeply explore the narrative value of the residence space in Jinpingmei Cihua and further understand the unique spatial narrative strategy of Jinpingmei Cihua.This paper is divided into five parts:The introduction briefly introduces the background of Jin Ping Mei CI Hua,clarifies the reasons for the topic selection,and comments on the relevant achievements of the research on the spatial narrative of Jin Ping Mei CI Hua,so as to explain the research significance and value of this paper.The first chapter summarizes the layout and spatial characteristics of the mansion in Jin Ping Mei CI Hua.From a holistic perspective,we can see the characteristics of the residence in Jin Ping Mei CI Hua.The imperial power color of the capital residence and the market-oriented characteristics of Qinghe County residence are a kind of unique space writing strategy.Most of them are Xi Menqing's residence.The residence in Jinpingmei Cihua presents commercial characteristics,while the official residence such as Zhou shoubei's residence and Yanzhou's residence has political characteristics.The description and contrast of space show the diversified forms of the residence space in Jin Ping Mei CI Hua.In addition,there are many garden buildings in Jin Ping Mei CI Hua,which reflect the architectural fashion of garden style in the middle and late Ming Dynasty.The second chapter focuses on the space writing and narrative function of Xi Menqing mansion.The front door is the boundary between the inside and outside of the mansion,and the space of the front door contains the meaning of greed and freedom.Hall is a place for entertaining guests in ancient mansion buildings,which has a unique symbolic meaning in Jin Ping Mei CI Hua.The functions of banquet and sacrifice show the political representation of space and the intermediary of the communication between man and God.At the same time,the hall also has the gender color of space.There are three types of Kitchens: inner kitchen,outer kitchen and wife's kitchenette.The kitchen not only reflects the living conditions of ancient kitchen servants,but also depicts the different personalities of kitchen maids.The garden space of Xi Menqing mansion hides greed and deduces evil.It has become a place for men and women to have an intimate relationship,showing the false feelings and signs of fate between the characters.The garden space is also a place where literati and prostitutes communicate.Taking Cai Yushi as a typical example,it reflects the literati's degenerate life.Shangfang,Li pinger and Pan Jinlian are typical female rooms,which have symbolic meanings of identity,memory and power.The third chapter explores the spatial implication and narrative value of other mansions in Jin Ping Mei CI Hua.Wang Zhaoxuan's residence is an aristocratic residence with a tassel for generations,but his life is extremely degenerate.It not only deduces the rise and fall of a family,but also epitomizes the history of a country.The trial function of the government building in Zhou shoubei's mansion and the death of Pang Chunmei and Chen Jingji in the backyard all imply the punishment power of Zhou shoubei's mansion to the villain.The capital mansion space is the symbol of national ethics,and it is also the place for the characters to reincarnate.The capital space has the dual connotation of greed and redemption.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the artistic characteristics and artistic effect of spatial narrative.The diachronic and synchronic nature of space narrative emphasizes the narrative connection among space and time.The diachronic nature of space is manifested in the diachronic transformation of the scene,the spatial characteristics of "Fu Ying",and the diachronic effect of the physical space itself.The synchronicity of space is complex,and the causal and non causal relations of space narrative produce different narrative ways.In addition,clip narration promotes the synchronic narration of multiple spatial scenes.The skills of space conversion and cohesion are mainly manifested in the method of changing scenery,the "seeing" of space perspective,and the space conversion function of sound.The "hot and cold" description of the scene is a special way of space narrative.The banquets and death scenes in the mansion skillfully use the way of "hot and cold" contrast to promote the change of the fate of the mansion.
