Research On The Status Quo Of The Generation And Operation Of Independent Art Spaces

Independent art space is an experimental,independent and non-profit artist autonomous space evolved from alternative space in the context of time and space of Chinese contemporary art.The formation of independent art space is closely related to the changes in the development environment of Chinese contemporary art.On the one hand,it is reflected in the changes in the system and the public's attitude towards contemporary Chinese art and the changes in exhibition space brought about by it;on the other hand,it reflects In the art world,the reflection on the rigidity of art production and the return of art autonomy and locality caused by the acceleration of the urbanization process.This article will explore the changes and adjustments of its internal operating model from the levels of fund management,project content,publicity,audience,team division and organizational structure of Beijing Independent Art Space.This article selects independent art spaces established in Beijing after 2008 as the research object.Through field investigations,interviews,data analysis,and document collation,this paper analyzes the history of independent art spaces,the development environment and the distribution of time and space,the status quo of space operations,and their experience.Challenges Faced The four parts explore the concept of independent art space,sort out the generation and development of Beijing independent space,analyze the current operation of Beijing independent art space,and point out problems.I hope to provide experience for the future development and research of independent art spaces.
